A Two Tone Pleated Dress Lind MANGO Tale

Jami was browsing on “Mango.com” when she saw me. She thought to herself” “That’s a cute Two Tone Pleated Dress. I’d look pretty cute in that.” I thought to myself” “Yes” I’m a cute Two Tone Pleated Dress and you’d look pretty cute in me. So go ahead and buy me already.”

I knew Jami was a frugal girl. She loved fashion and loved to be fashionable but she had been raised to be practical and to think about the bigger picture and prepare and plan for that bigger picture.

Jami’s bigger picture had five bedrooms and four bathrooms with 2 partial baths and was situated on 2.5 acres of land somewhere in Florida. She was saving for her bigger picture and didn’t like to spend money on clothes unless it was absolutely necessary; but she really loved me and she wanted me and I really wanted her to buy me. I felt like I had been made just for her.

“Come on Jami you deserve me,” I said to her as she continued to eye me. “I’m only forty bucks. You can afford forty bucks.”

As if she’d heard me Jami repeated pretty much the same thing I’d said.

“It’s only forty bucks”,” she said. “I can afford forty bucks.”

“And you can wear me with those Steve Madden suede peep-toe HIPIEE pumps your sister gave you for your birthday”,” I said. “They’ll go great with me.”

Again it was as if Jami had heard me.

“I can wear this with those pumps Linda gave me for my birthday”,” she said. “They’ll go great together.”

It took another ten or so minutes” but Jami finally decided to buy me. She decided that she deserved a new dress and spending forty dollars on herself instead of putting it in the dream house account wasn’t that big a deal.

Show off your legs-Joe’s Jeans Women’s 2 1/2 Inch Rolled blue denim shorts

My legs are not nearly as flawless as those on the model shown in the picture who is wearing a pair of Joe’s Jeans Women’s 2 1/2 Inch Rolled Short. I don’t have anywhere near as smooth and flawless a complexion. I probably wouldn’t wear these shorts outdoors but I’d definitely love to have them as an option for wearing around the house. I’m feeling pretty good right this minute. Slightly sleepy but still feeling pretty good. I’ve been doing a 21 day juice fast and I’m on day 3. Right now I’m feeling pretty refreshed; but it could be because I just had some juice to drink and it was delicious and refreshing. I hope it’s given me enough of what I need to get through my workout which I will be starting in another 10 – 20 minutes.

Yesterday we started loading our stuff into the cubes we rented from UPack. We got most of the boxes loaded and will be continuing to do some loading later today. I spent most of the day dismantling furniture and packing more stuff.

By next Wednesday I should be setting up shop in the new apartment if everything goes well.

Don’t dress your age DV by Dolce Vita Women’s Charlene Shift Dress

This is a cute little 100% cotton white three-quarter sleeve shift dress with eyelet detail. This is probably one of those dresses that if you wear it over a certain age you’ll get the snide remarks from people who think that after a certain age you shouldn’t wear certain styles of clothing. DV by Dolce Vita Womens Charlene Shift Dress DV by Dolce Vita Women’s Charlene Shift Dress – Purchase Details

I frankly think a woman should wear whatever she wants to wear but she should bear in mind that people can be cruel and ridicule is possible when she goes out in public wearing things that are ordinarily considered unsuitable for a woman to wear after a certain age. If you can keep on strutting in the face of the ridicule then strut your stuff and tell your critics to kiss your derriere; but if you tend to get self conscious and you embarrass easily it would probably be better not to dress to draw attention to yourself.

I saw a picture of Joan Collins a few weeks ago. She was wearing a tunic top with a short skirt. The outfit was nice and youthful; but some people didn’t think it was suitable for a woman Joan’s age because her legs were showing her age and they figure mini skirts are only for girls and young women who have youthful looking supple legs.

I didn’t get the impression that Joan cared too much what people might be thinking about her outfit choice though. She looked perfectly at ease and happy and hardly like she was less than a year away from turning 80 years old.

How short is this dress? I love the color and the style would be great for the little fibroid issue I think.

So yeah I want to do a tea fast today as in only drink tea all day and don’t consume anything else. I’m already feeling the urge to eat so I don’t know if I’ll be successful but I feel like my body needs to be given a break from food today.

It’s not because of weight that I’m doing the fast. Far from that hubby was complaining yesterday that I’m getting back too small so I have to be careful not because of his concerns but because I myself actually don’t want to ever again be as skinny as I used to be. The thing is with these fibroids I have to do these fasts from time to time to try to deprive them of the stuff that keeps them fat and happy otherwise they totally screw up my physical and mental balance and that in turn upsets my emotional balance and I’m just a mess; and I can’t afford to keep being a mess because then I’m never going to get to finish my book and fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a published author.

Talking about beating odds — I am feeling a wee bit down at the moment. Worried confused… Yesterday I came across an old diary and in one of the entries I talked about how I was going to rise and shine and show up all the people who expected me to amount to nothing.

I guess when you really think about it think about where I was in my life then I should give myself some credit. After all I was nothing but a beggar then. I didn’t have anything of my own and that includes a place to live. I was an adult with a kid and begging lodging; but I haven’t had to live like that for many more years than I had to depend on other people who made sure I knew with every bite of their food that I took that I was worth nothing in their eyes.

Life was hard back then and life is hard now for different reasons. I haven’t accomplished the things I expected to have accomplished by now. I’m supposed to be a published author with enough money to afford this cheetah print belt and everything else I’ve added to my fashion want list. I’m not a published author and I don’t have money to afford anything beyond paying bills and buying groceries; but when I think about where I’ve been and compare it to where I am you could say I’ve beaten the odds that were set against me then and if I could beat those surely I can beat these new odds.

I was just reading what I wrote in the post “I want this yellow Tiered Gauze Maxi Dress from Spiegel” and I’m thinking to myself that’s not how I want to represent myself–as some insecure woman who lets her disrespectful man’s actions cause her to feel like less than she is.

In the first place I shouldn’t be with a man who would treat me the way I describe in the post. A little respect is not too much to expect and if your man doesn’t think you deserve then you need to rethink whether or not this is a man you ought to be with.

It’s not about trying to tell your man what to do with his eyes. He’s got the right to look where he wants for whatever reason but he should have some basic manners and out of consideration for your presence he should endeavor to resist the temptation to openly feast his eyes on the women walking by. If your presence makes no difference to him you should probably not be in a relationship with this person.

I’m awake a little early today. Couldn’t sleep. Guess I’m getting more anxious as it nears moving day. Come Friday I will be on a bus heading to Georgia for a few days and from there it will be off to Illinois. I’m not thrilled about this move but it must be done.

Change is good right? Sigh. I have been moving from one place to the next since I first ran away from home as a teenager. I dream of the day I will find a place to call home and I don’t mean just a structure of a house to call home but also a location somewhere in the world to call home as well.

I was complaining in my previous post that I didn’t have any energy to workout. Well I’ve managed to put in 20 minutes of crunches pushups squats and inner thigh work so at least if I don’t workout today I’ll have done some little thing. I think I’ll try to do another set of the same stuff in a little bit and then maybe another 10 or 20 minutes of yoga. We’ll see how that goes but for now at least I’ve done something and 20 minutes is better than zero minutes.

I actually feel a little bit better since doing that brief 20 minute workout. It’s amazing what a little exercise can do for the mind.

Probably what I’ll do for the rest of my waking hours is try to clean up my kitchen. I’ve had the sink filled with dirty dishes all day; and maybe try to pack up a few more boxes. Moving day is next Friday. I need to start working on dealing with the reality of the long bus ride and then the longer car trip and then the reality of waking up in a new state in a new apartment I haven’t seen. I hope and pray the apartment will be at least decent and the experience will be good.
