5 Celery pulp face mask recipes for glowing skin

Don’t throw out the celery pulp after juicing. Use it to make a celery pulp face mask. It’s claimed in plentiful articles around the Internet that a celery pulp face mask can help to give your skin a boost of hydration, as well as brighten and enliven your skin. Celery is said to contain antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that are great for the skin.

When you juice celery, instead of pouring all the celery pulp down the garbage disposal drain, use some of it to make a celery pulp face mask. You can just apply the pulp to your face by itself or you can mix it with a number of different ingredients such as honey, oatmeal, cucumber and turmeric.

Here are 5 celery face mask recipes to help your skin glow

These recipes have no quantity measurements. The reason is because  everyone’s face is different so a recipe with specific quantities of the ingredients could yield too much or too little of the mixture. It’s assumed you have an idea of how much mixture will be enough to cover your face. Keep in mind that a medium sized bunch of celery produces maybe about 1 cup of pulp.

Celery Pulp and Honey Face Mask

Ingredients:

  • Celery pulp
  • Organic 100% Honey

Instructions:

It’s assumed you have celery pulp left over from juicing celery. If not, you can puree the celery to create the pulp mixture. But if you don’t want to waste celery, juice the celery and use the pulp that’s left behind. Drinking celery juice is said to have amazing health benefits.

Mix the celery pulp with honey in whatever quantity works for you. Everybody’s face is different. Basically you want enough mixture to cover your face. You probably shouldn’t use too much honey. But do use enough to hold the celery pulp together and make it easier for it to stay on your face. Expect it to be a bit messy.

Apply the mixture to your face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water. Honey helps to soothe and hydrate the skin, while celery pulp is rich in antioxidants that help to fight free radicals and prevent damage to the skin.

Celery Pulp and canned coconut milk face mask

Ingredients:

  • Celery pulp
  • Canned coconut milk

Instructions:

  1. If you don’t already have celery pulp left over from juicing, start by washing and chopping enough stalks of celery to suit the size of your face. Blend or juice the celery to extract the pulp. Use which ever method will yield pulp with no solid chunks of celery left behind
  2. Mix the celery pulp and coconut milk together in a small bowl until well combined. How much coconut milk you use will be up to you as well. Just keep in mind that the objective is to make the mixture hold together with a consistency that will be easy as possible to apply and adhere to your face.
  3. Apply the mixture to your face, making sure to avoid your eyes and mouth.
  4. Leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Rinse off the mask with lukewarm water and pat your face dry with a towel.

Celery contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties that can help to soothe and rejuvenate the skin. Coconut milk is high in fatty acids and vitamin E, which can nourish and hydrate the skin. Together, these ingredients can help to improve the overall appearance of your skin.

Celery Pulp and Aloe Vera Face Mask

Ingredients

  • Celery pulp
  • Aloe Vera Gel

Instructions

Mix celery pulp with aloe vera gel. As with the other recipes, you decide the quantity of pulp to aloe vera gel based on your needs. Keep in mind that you need enough mixture to cover your whole face. Also keep in mind, as stated above, the celery pulp will be messy and might not want to stay on your face. Aloe vera gel is gooey and so the mixture could slide and slip off your face. The key is to get the two blended well. Make sure the celery pulp is well enough pureed. In some cases you might have to put it in a blender to puree it as the mixture from the juicer might have chunks of actual celery in it. Or you can just take the chunks out before you start mixing things up. The same goes for the aloe vera gel. Make sure you don’t have chunks of aloe vera in the mix. You want a well integrated mixture of the celery pulp and the aloe vera gel.

Apply the mixture to your face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water. Aloe vera has anti-inflammatory properties that help to soothe and calm the skin, while celery pulp helps to remove toxins and impurities from the skin.

Celery Pulp and Oatmeal Face Mask

Ingredients

  • Celery Pulp
  • Oat Meal

Instructions

Mix celery pulp with tablespoon of oatmeal in quantities sufficient to make enough mix to cover your face. There should be more celery pulp than oatmeal in your mixture. Aim for twice the amount of celery pulp as oatmeal.

Add enough water to make a paste.

Apply the mixture to your face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water. Oatmeal helps to exfoliate and soothe the skin, while celery pulp helps to detoxify and purify the skin.

Celery Pulp and Turmeric Face Mask

Ingredients

  • Celery Pulp
  • Turmeric

Instructions

Mix enough celery pulp to cover your face with about 1 or 2 tablespoons of turmeric powder (or more if you so choose).

Add enough water to make a paste.

Apply the mixture to your face and leave it on for 15-20 minutes.

Rinse off with warm water.

Turmeric has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that help to brighten and even out the skin tone, while celery pulp helps to nourish and rejuvenate the skin.

These recipes were created with the help of openAI. The celery pulp with canned cocount milk and the celery pulp with aloe vera are the only ones I’ve tried so far. The celery pulp with aloe vera was the better of the two. My face did look refreshed after. But it was annoying to get the mixture applied to my face. I did not have enough mixture and there were plenty of chunks of celery and the chunks of aloe vera in the mixture.

The canned coconut was a hilarious experiment. The mixture was too thick and was even more difficult to apply than the celery pulp aloe vera mixture. It kept falling off my face in chunks. Although I had enough mixture I was not able to get my face covered fully because it was just way too thick. I didn’t feel like it did much of anything in terms of leaving my face looking noticeably refreshed like the celery pulp aloe vera mask did.

I’ll try the turmeric mask next. Leave a comment if you try any of these masks and let others know the result.
