Q I’m pretty skinny but I always look like I have a baby bump. I’d say my stomach protrudes to where I look about 3 or 4 months pregnant(because of a health condition). I’ve been thinking about buying some jumpsuits but I’m not sure how they would look on me. I don’t want to emphasize my stomach. Can I wear a jumpsuit if I look pregnant?
Re: Can I wear a jumpsuit if I look pregnant?
A – Yes you can wear a jumpsuit if you look pregnant. Google pregnant in jumpsuit and you will come across examples of pregnant women wearing a variety of styles of jumpsuits.
What you’ll probably also notice is that in most cases the baby bump is very much emphasized. So wearing a jumpsuit without emphasizing your stomach is probably where it starts to get tricky.
The standard denim overall might not be possible to wear without emphasizing your stomach.

Since the standard style denim overalls like the one above can sometimes make even ladies with a flat stomach look like they have a bit of a tummy, it would probably be best to avoid this style if you do have a tummy. Unless you decide to just go with it and let people think you’re pregnant if they want.
But there are some styles of jumpsuits that might be less problematic. For example:
- Harem style jumpsuits
- Jumpsuits with draping detail
- Jumpsuits with ruffled top
- Jumpsuit with fold-over top
- Jumpsuits with fringe detail
Spaghetti Strap Loose Fit Harem Jumper

The above harem style loose fitting jumper comes in a wide range of colors including turquoise, red, green, blue, yellow, burgundy, tangerine, orange, purple. It has a 4.5 out of 5 stars rating with most customer reviews raving that it’s super cute and comfortable.
So to wrap up our answer to the question “Can I wear a jumpsuit (if I look pregnant)?”
Yes, you can; but if your goal is to avoid emphasizing your stomach you will need to spend some time trying different styles to find a style that will facilitate that goal. Because some styles of jumpsuits can make you look like you have a protruding tummy even when you don’t. So if you do have a protruding tummy, those styles will only make it more pronounced.
