Why do women wear see through clothes? I wanted to see what kind of discussions this question has stirred around the internet so I googled the question. I’ve noticed that more men seem to ask the question than women. And the majority of men who ask the question seem to have a problem with women wearing see through clothes. Not that they mind the free show; but they seem to think it’s not an appropriate way for women to be dressed in public. What do you think?
My thoughts: I think there’s a little bit of truth to some of the comments about women wearing see through clothes to show off. And when you’re doing something to show off you’re doing it for attention. Even if you’re just trying to get attention for being daring rather than trying to get attention for being sexy, you’re still doing it because you want people to look at you. So there’s some truth to the idea that women wear see through clothes to get attention. But I don’t think it’s the case for every woman who wears see through clothes. I think some women just like the look. Particularly the look of sheer see through tops worn with something appropriate underneath.
On one of my recent trips to my local Goodwill I picked up two sheer see through tops. Well, technically I picked up a semi-sheer top and a see through top. The semi sheer top is the above Forever 21 magenta top. It’s probably looks pretty sheer in bright light considering you can easily see through it if you hold it up to light. But when I put it on it didn’t look that sheer. Then again I’m blind as a bat so I can’t really trust my own vision.
The other top is a New York and Company wine red burgundy sheer see through top. This one is totally see through. But because of the color you can probably make it look more semi-sheer than absolutely see through if your complexion is on the darker side like mine.
So what are your thoughts?
Would you go out in public wearing sheer see through tops? Why do you think some men are against women wearing see through clothing?
