Shopping list for your day at the beach

What? You haven’t been to the beach yet for the summer? You better get planning your day at the beach. It’s nearly August already!

July is almost over. The store shelves have already been stacked with back to school items. So you know what that means? Even though you’ll still have warm enough weather well into September, you’re still running out of time for the requisite summer day at the beach.

For some people school starts back in just a couple of weeks. The summer holidays will be officially over.

And before you know it, summer will give way to fall and fall to winter.

Your time for fun in the sun in 2015 is running out. Okay, maybe that’s a bit much. You still have a lot of days left for fun in the sun in 2015. But if you don’t live near the beach and a trip to the beach requires some planning and some travel, you’re definitely running out of weekends. Tomorrow is the last Saturday in July and you have only 5 Saturdays to work with in August.

You’re of course going to need a nice beach bag.

The bag shown in the picture above is from KAYU. It’s their pink St. Tropez tote bag. You can purchase it via Moda Operandi for $115. Style it with an LD Carey Helen Hat ($325), Carrie Forbes slip on raffia sandals($270) and your favorite designer sunglasses.

The LD Carey Helen hat not your style?

If the LD Carey Helen hat is not exactly your style, Moda Operandi has many other styles of wide brimmed sunhats that make for perfect beach hats.

The Eugenia Kim colorblocked sunny hat shown above is made of paper and cotton. It comes with a $455 price tag.

For your fun summer day at the beach, style your Eugenia Kim hat with Carrie Forbes sandals and mirrored lens sunglasses.

The beach sandals…

Personally we prefer slip-ons or flip-flops for the beach. Sandals that have to be strapped on or fastened in some way are not as convenient; but then again, you’re probably going to walk barefoot on the sand so the convenience probably won’t be the primary consideration in selecting your beach sandals.

Moda Operandi has a nice selection of slip-on and strap-on summer sandals that will make for perfect beach sandals. The Carrie Forbes turquoise salon slip on sandals come with a $270 price tag.

And of course the swimsuit…

Like to look sexy on the beach? Then you’ll probably want to get you one of these cut-out bandage Herve Leger bikinis. The top and bottom are sold separately and each cost $590.

But if a Herve Leger cut-out bandage bathing suit is not your cup of tea there are plenty of other styles of swimwear to choose from at Moda Operandi.
