Found some summer skirts in my inbox this morning. Unfortunately they were in the form of photos rather than actual summer skirts that I could somehow retrieve from my inbox and wear. They were sent to me by Mytheresa.com with “The best summer skirts EVER” as the email subject.
I love skirts. I find that skirts are easier to wear than pants. They are usually more comfortable and convenient and they are a great way to stay cooler in the summer.
I love most all skirt styles. I probably have more maxi skirts in my closet than any other length of skirt, but I have a fair share of midis and minis. I have mostly flared skirts and pencil skirts. But as much as I love skirts I don’t wear skirts as often as I probably would if I had a wider selection of tops that went well with my skirts.
So what are the best summer skirts ever according to mytheresa?
Emilio Pucci, Isabel Marant, Erdem, Stella McCartney, Miu Miu–these are some of the designers on Mytheresa.com’s list of the best summer skirts ever. Needless to say these are pretty expensive skirts. The cheapest I was able to find when browsing on the website was this white denim skirt from Acne Studios.
This Acne Studios Kate denim skirt comes with a $340 price tag. Personally I don’t yet have any skirts in my closet that cost that amount of money. Not that I think it’s expensive. Earlier today I was browsing through the Valentino collection on the Stylebop website and my attention was drawn to a really cute skirt. The price of that skirt was nearly $4000 so when you consider that, $340 is more than reasonable.
Salvatore Ferragamo Cotton skirt
Red 50’s Italy inspired cotton broderie anglaise skirt from Salvatore Ferragamo. Comes with a $1,086 price tag. Made of 100% cotton. Lined with 96% cotton 4% elastane material.
Black Saint Laurent Fringed leather skirt
I’ve never particularly liked things with fringes on them, but I’m finding myself drawn to a lot of the fringed skirts I’ve been seeing lately, including this black fringed leather skirt from Saint Laurent.
A leather skirt wouldn’t be the first thing that comes to my mind when I think summer skirts…
But I guess a leather mini skirt on a not so hot day can work in the summer.
This skirt comes with a $2,390 so it’s not for girls with empty wallets.
Stella McCartney Denim skirt
You can carry over this Stella McCartney denim skirt from your summer skirts collection to your fall skirts collection. Comes with a $975 price tag.
Dolce & Gabbana Striped cotton skirt
Black and white striped cotton skirt from Dolce & Gabbana. Comes with a $995 price tag.
