We were recently approached by a backpack company named American Shield and asked to take a look at their backpacks. They were very kind to offer a sponsorship, and as we are always eager to discover new brands to share with you, we agreed to accept a gifted black Granite 25 Backpack.

American Shield Granite 25 Backpack

The fashion backpack is made from Oxford Fabric, which, if like us you don’t know what that is, propercloth.com describes as “a very popular shirting fabric, particularly for more casual or sporty styles of dress shirts. It’s a bit thicker than what we’d consider ‘fine’ dress shirt fabrics, and has a hearty feel that is both durable and naturally resistant to wrinkles.”

Other features of the American Shield Granite 25 backpack include

  • 2 external side pockets
  • 1 Back pocket

If you’re shopping for designer backpacks, or otherwise stylish backpacks for women (or stylish backpacks for men if you’re male), the price tag for this fashion and style backpack is $299, which qualifies it as an expensive backpack/daypack. That may satisfy your desire for your backpack to be designer.

Our new backpack has found a home with our product tester Bryan. Bryan has described the backpack as having a nice design and being functional–serving the purpose for which it is being used, which is to carry around his laptop computer. He would agree with the description of the bag as provided on the American Shield website, that the bag is versatile, spacious, and functional. However, he would not call this the best backpack he has ever owned. He thinks that the mechanism for opening and closing the bag is not as convenient as he would prefer. In his opinion, a bag that zips to close is more secure than a bag that snaps shut. He also has concerns about the bag’s sturdiness given the material out of which it is made. And while he thinks that the bag is overall a decent bag, the price tag seems a bit high to him. Had he been shopping for a backpack and come across this one, he would not have shelled out the $299 to purchase it.

What do you think of the design of the Granite 25 Backpack? If you like it but you can’t see your way to spending $299 to get it, American Shield has provided us a coupon code to share with you. You can get 20% off your purchase using the code AMESHIELD8020

The backpack comes in colors like:

  • Coffee
  • Green
  • Black & Brown

Hello, I'm Adela Lewis aka singer songwriter Adelamonica. I am the founder, creative director, editor in chief and main writer for avenuesixty.com. First let me say, I myself cringe at some of the things I've written on this blog. It is completely embarrassing to realize how miserably I've been failing to hide the fact that I lack sophistication, and often times lack enlightenment. I wish I had never written half the things I've written on here, but I did write them. To be clear, I am just a regular person who enjoys writing. I refer to myself as "editor in chief" and "creative director" because, owning the blog as I do and being the one who creates and edits the content (except for content submitted by guest contributors), I feel that I have the freedom to do so. But I am not an editor and there is currently no staff that I oversee. Via this blog, I am contributing my personal thoughts and ideas and beliefs to everyday topics of discussion--at times topics on which I am not particularly well informed, but about which I might still have a point of view--much like most other people on the planet . The things I write should be regarded in the light of diary/journal style and essay style writings, reviews and reports exploring the topics I attempt to discuss. Please recognize that I have no academic or other professional qualifications and I do not represent my points of view as carrying any weight or having anything of significant value to contribute to serious discussions held by qualified persons on any topic featured. I apologize in advance for any errors major or minor that I make in my writing (I have made some embarrassing errors), anything I write that can be perceived as an offense or that is otherwise insensitive or needlessly critical and disparaging of any person.
