#Rihanna went home and had her some fun at the 2015 #Barbados #CropOver2015 Festival.
We were just browsing through Rihanna’s Instagram checking out some pictures she posted showing how much fun she had celebrating the 2015 Barbados Crop Over Festival with her friends, family and country men & women.
In case you’re wondering what is Crop Over?
via Wikipedia – Crop Over (formerly called “Harvest Home”), is a traditional harvest festival which began in Barbados, having had its early beginnings on the sugar cane plantations during the colonial period. The crop over tradition began in 1688, and featured singing, dancing and accompaniment by bottles filled with water, shak-shak, banjo, triangle, fiddle, guitar, and bones. Other traditions included climbing a greased pole, feasting and drinking competitions. Originally a celebration signaling the end of the yearly sugar cane harvest, it has since evolved into Barbados’ biggest national festival similar to Carnival in Brazil and Trinidad.
We love the fact that Rihanna loves her roots. You can check out how much on her Instagram where she posted some vids that give a glimpse into the somewhat raunchy carnival culture, along with pics like these.
