My current favorite foundation: Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Liquid 24H Longwear SPF 15 Foundation
The foundation of your skin is everything right? If you have good skin you’re lucky. You probably don’t need to use a lot of foundation. I’ve said before I hate makeup. And if you showed up unexpected at my door you would likely find me not wearing any makeup. Because I only wear makeup for modeling for my various self-produced/self-directed photo shoots. I seldom wear makeup even to go out in my every day life. Some people reading this who know me might think that’s a lie. Because when they are visiting I wear make-up all the time. Note to those people: it’s because you’re around and I feel like I have to hide behind makeup because I feel like I am being noticed for all my flaws. No offense. That’s just how I feel.
But outside of those occasions when I have visitors, or the rare occasion when I feel like I’m going some place where it will be better for me to try to look my best, I don’t wear makeup. All of my cosmetics purchases are for use with my various business ambitions. I do my own makeup for photoshoots so I don’t come in knowing what are the best and right products for my skin. I end up spending a lot of money and have spent a lot of money trying out a lot of different foundations and other beauty products. But I think I might have found a go-to foundation. It’s Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Liquid 24H Longwear SPF 15 Foundation.
I first purchased a bottle of Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Liquid 24H Longwear SPF 15 Foundation last year and have meant to write a post about it since, but you know how it is. Better late than never though. And I think it’s good that I’ve waited, because I’ve purchased several other bottles of Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Liquid 24H Longwear SPF 15 Foundation in different shades since the first purchase back in 2016. And I still feel the same way about the foundation. It’s the best foundation I’ve used to date.
I’ll still be trying other foundations in the quest to find the absolute best foundation for my skin; but for now, I’ll say the best foundation I’ve used in all my foundation using experience is Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Liquid 24H Longwear SPF 15 Foundation.
I recently replenished my supply. I have to use makeup a lot more than usual since I need to take photos and videos fairly regularly for promoting myself as a singer-songwriter. So where once upon a time a bottle of foundation could last me a good while, I’m using more frequently and therefore running out faster. I had to buy two different shades of the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Liquid 24H Longwear SPF 15 Foundation. And at $47 per bottle, that’s not a small expense. So I also purchased a bottle of Clinique Even Better Glow Light Reflecting Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 to try so that, just in case it works as well as the Lancome, I can start buying that instead. Because really, as great as the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Liquid 24H Longwear SPF 15 Foundation has proven to be, it will be better if I can find something that works as well but is more affordable.
I have to say though, the Clinique Even Better Glow Light Reflecting Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 cannot compare with the Lancome. It’s okay, but it’s just not going to work for what I need for my photos and videos. I was hopeful, especially considering it claims it improves your skin with use. But for my photo and videos it just doesn’t do a good enough job.
So for now, I’ll be sticking with Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Liquid 24H Longwear SPF 15 Foundation. I’ve tried it in 3 shades so far and I have to say, it’s tough getting the right match. But mixing the shades gets me close enough. I have a crazy complexion. My face is a lot darker than the rest of my body. So I have to buy foundation to match the rest of my body rather than to match my face. This brings my face to the same complexion as the rest of my body.
What I love about the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Liquid 24H Longwear SPF 15 Foundation is that is makes my skin look smooth and it lasts a long time. And you don’t feel like you’re wearing ten thousand pounds of makeup. I’m no makeup artist but I manage to get a good enough job done. I can’t say the same for a lot of the foundations I’ve tried over the years. I’ve had some horrific experiences and thought it was just me and my bad, aging skin. But it was the foundation all along. The right foundation is very important.
I’m not suggesting that Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Liquid 24H Longwear SPF 15 Foundation is the best foundation out there. I don’t know. I haven’t tried them all and there are a few that I would like to try out. But of the ones I’ve tried out, the Lancome stands at the top of my list right now as the best foundation I’ve used.
