What do you think of these Valentino color block leather knee high boots?
They seem to be a love em or hate em style based on comments we’ve come across on Instagram.
Some people think they’re awesome. Some people think they’re hideous.
We can see how these boots might fail to excite at first. You look at them and think ‘hmm’ with the expression of one who is unimpressed. But then you look at them again and start to imagine how you would wear them. And maybe you pop over to Polyvore and start putting some outfit ideas together. And all of a sudden you’re like ‘hmm’ with the expression of one who is making an enlightened discovery.
These boots are interesting and have loads of potential for creating looks that are fun and stylish. At least virtually speaking, they force you to put in that extra effort to really . Styling outfits in a virtual environment is one thing. Styling the real thing in real life is something else altogether.
These Valentino color block leather knee high boots are not everyday boots by any means. They come with a $2,075 price tag. So they’re really just toys for girls who can afford to spend two grand on a pair of shoes they’ll only wear a handful of times or even once.
For us they are virtual objects with which to play as we imagine how we would wear them if we owned a pair.
Here are some looks we have put together that we would love to photo shoot if opportunity ever presents itself.
How to wear your Valentino color block leather knee high boots – Look #1
This is a really basic outfit. It pairs a Dolce & Gabbana denim mini skirt with an Armani pussyblow blouse. We think the Valentino boots would work nicely with this combination. And although some might consider it an example of being too matchy matchy, we’ve decided on the matching stripe ‘Rockstud’ bag to go with the boots. Since this is a fall look, we’re going with a blue Burberry wool coat for the outerwear.

This look pairs burgundy super skinny J Brand jeans with a blue Agnona turtleneck sweater. For fun we threw in a color block (nutmeg/mutli) Anna Sui Lamb Fur Vest. For outerwear, a beige over-sized man coat from Joseph; and for accessories a pair of Cutler and Gross sunglasses and a Marc Jacobs belt. This is another matchy matchy look with a different version of the Valentino My Rockstud Striped Bag paired with the color block knee high boots.
And for a look with a dress…
An ivory white sweater dress from Valentino with a red Derek Lam Boucle Kimono Coat, a blue Dolce & Gabbana grained leather Miss Sicily shoulder bag, an Alexis Bittar Lucite open circle pendant necklace, a pair of Thierry Lasry turquoise ‘Cupidity’ sunglasses and an ISABEL MARANT Brass panel pearlescent resin bangle bracelet.
[quote_box_center]Via mytheresa.com – Valentino’s thick-knit sweater dress has us wishing winter would come early. Crafted from sublimely soft wool, it features a relaxed fit, augmented by dropped shoulder seams. Team it with tights and knee-high boots.[/quote_box_center]
