Styling the purple thigh high boots look 2

So I bought a pair of purple thigh high boots from Fashionnova.com. You can see them in the posts Can you wear a blue coat with a purple dress? and Can you wear purple with blue?. These are old posts that I wanted to update with some new pictures.

I also bought this purple satin skirt/top matching set to pair with the boots for an outfit post.

My thoughts on the satin matching skirt and top set

It’s cute enough. It fits okay. I bought the XS. The top is a bit heavy I would have to say. Almost like a jacket heavy. The skirt is not as heavy by comparison. Skirt feels like a normal weight. The items are not flimsy in my opinion. They seem well enough made. Material is 100% polyester so this is probably not something you’ll want to wear in the hotter seasons. Seems perfect for fall.

My thoughts on the Purple patent PU boots

The Fashion Nova “Hope You Do Over The Knee Boots” are what you would expect them to be for what they are–a cheap pair of 4.5″ Stiletto Heel thigh high boots made of patent PU plastic. You’re probably not going to get stopped and complimented on your shoes if you step out wearing these. But for sure you will be noticed. People tend to notice you when you’re wearing stiletto thigh high boots, and when those boots are purple, you can be be certain you’ll get a few looks.

The boots are comfortable enough. They feel fairly low heeled for being 4.5 inches. They aren’t difficult to walk in; but be careful if you wear them while walking on stones. The bottom of the boots is made of an easy to penetrate material. I had to walk over a path of stones while heading to the porch to take my photos and I could feel the stones as if I was barefoot.

The boots stayed up fine and served their purpose. They feel like they can keep your calves warm enough in the fall and winter. But I suspect they will not protect your feet from frost bite.

Would I wear them out in public? I think possibly with some jeans and turtleneck sweater and a faux leather trench coat or other long coat. Why not? I think they can work for wearing out in public in the fall.

5 super expensive pairs of thigh high knee high over knee boots

5 pairs of super expensive designer thigh high knee high over the knee boots

I’ve been looking around for more interesting styles of thigh high, over the knee and knee high boots to purchase. The selection at Fashion Nova and shopakira.com is pretty basic. But it seems like options for interesting styles of boots are only available if you happen to have money to afford high end purchases. Brands like Dolce & Gabbana have some interesting boots I’d love to get my hands on, but with price tags running as high as $10,700 for a pair of their Cardinal Crystal Jacquard Knee High Boot, there’s no chance of my getting my feet into a pair of these boots in my lifetime.

Even more expensive, although you can pick up a pair at a 40% discount at Farfetch as of this writing, is the Philipp Plein pair of tie-dye print thigh high boots. The retail price according to the Farfetch website is $12,090. But with the 40% discount you can get them for $7,279.

For $10000,you can pick up a pair of Jimmy CHoo “Exclusive Blake Crystal-Embellished Suede Knee Boots”. But note how the description gives a clue as to what kind of people buy shoes for ten thousand dollars.

Loved by everyone from mega-celebrities to first ladies and royalty, Jimmy Choo’s faultless roster of shoes and accessories have graced countless red carpets and glamorous events.(ModaOperandi product page description)

If you can afford the price tag of $5,345, these sequin boots from Dolce & Gabbana will definitely make a statement as promised in the description. These are labeled as over the knee boots in the product title on the mytheresa.com page, however, as shown on the model, they are knee high. And the description text describes them as being “Covered in sequins from knee to toe”. So these are knee high boots and not over the knee boots.

For $8,995 you can get your hands on these green/multicolor Dolce & Gabbana fringe knee high boots. They feature a blend of silk and leather with patterned jacquard and metallic threading.

To get your hands on all 5 pairs of these high end designer boots it will cost you nearly $50,000. Can you imagine spending $50,000 to acquire 5 pairs of boots?

So here’s a question for you? If you were given $2500 and told you could spend it to acquire 1 single pair of designer thigh high boots or 25 pairs of boots that retail for $100 a piece, what choice would you make?

Oops, it’s after labor day and I’m wearing white

Hey there. How are you doing? I hope great. It’s been a minute since my last post. Between then and now a new month has started. It’s September 2022. I could bemoan the rapid passing of time but I think I’ll just deal with it and try to be in this moment now. I woke up at 4am today. When I wake up at 4am I will usually get in some exercise in some format. Today I got in some dance exercise. I made it fun by getting dressed up and filming some footage in the black and white color-block boots from this post.

adelamonica september 7 2022 3 My dance attire: a white tank bodysuit that I recently purchased from Fashion Nova and a pair of white pants that I purchased in 2017. I can’t quite recall from where I made the purchase of the pants. They weren’t always quite so tight as they are now.

The prop is just a curtain rod. I’d have loved to have had a nice glittery baton on hand but I did not.

And the point of all this jazz?

To live a little. I could have stayed in bed unable to sleep when I woke up at 4am this morning. Maybe had I stayed in bed I might have fallen back asleep which would have been a good thing. I definitely need to be getting more sleep. But I decided to get up and go get some exercise. And then I decided to turn it into a little video session. And you know what? It started off my day on a positive note. And even if it might seem stupid and pointless to the rest of the world, it was good self therapy for me.

We all only have one life to live, and however we live it is okay as long as it works for us and it isn’t against any law.

5 Top Fall Fashion Outfits and Matching Accessories

0

Fall is a great time to try new styles and explore versatile fashion choices. As old leaves are shed, this is a time for change, when even you can discard old habits or beliefs and reinvent yourself. Maybe you’ve always wanted to make more sustainable choices or have always considered adding bold prints to your wardrobe. This fall, you can do both.

We firmly believe that when it comes to fashion, choosing accessories and a color palette with care are as important as being mindful of the environment. In fact, we suggest taking your cues from nature itself. Reflecting the season’s hues and tones in your wardrobe is a surefire way to achieve cohesive looks.

Additionally, accessories can transform simple looks and make you stand out from the crowd. And what better way to accessorize than with pieces that ooze charm and seamlessly transition from season to season! Here are our 5 top picks for classic and chic fall fashion outfits that you can try this season, along with matching accessories so you can look your best.

Outfit #1: Statement Black Faux Leather

Where to Wear: Fall Date | Dinner with Friends

Faux leather pieces can easily take any look from day to night, and are known to elevate the simplest pieces to new heights. Make a bold statement with pink faux leather pants, or play it safe with a black jacket thrown over your favorite dress, white shirt, or neutral cardigan. Faux leather boots can also help to break up the wooly textures of your outfit and pull the entire look together.

Accessorize With

Add some stylish yet sustainable women’s glasses and complete the bold look with some statement jewelry and bright red lipstick.

Outfit #2: Classic Plaid

Where to Wear: Grocery Shopping | Hiking | Coffee Run

Nothing says fall like a cozy plaid shirt or your favorite flannel. But if you’re feeling bold or simply don’t want to wear large printed pieces, you can throw on some fun plaid patterned socks or tights under a denim skirt for a more minimal look. Accessories can be used in this way to either tone down or amp up existing looks.

Accessorize With

Scarves are also a great way to incorporate plaid into your fall outfit without committing to a large printed piece. There are also many styles of hats for women you can choose from to easily balance out a plaid heavy outfit as well.

Outfit #3: Dress for the Details

Where to Wear: Thanksgiving Dinner | Office Party

The simplest way to add details to a classic fall dress is by picking dainty personalized jewelry. A tiny name necklace will be an unforgettable accessory that adds uniqueness and personal style to any dress in your wardrobe without drawing unwanted attention.

Accessorize With

Pair your fall dress with a warm jacket or coat in neutral hues, ankle length or thigh high boots, and dainty, personalized jewelry.

Outfit #4: Style a Shirt Dress

Where to Wear: Brunch | To a Friend’s Birthday Party

A shirt dress is the perfect blend of formal and fun, and can easily be styled for a fall brunch, or a dinner party. Styling a shirt dress for fall is simple once you have a few staple accessories, such as a statement belt, some bold boots, and dainty diamond earrings for some added sparkle.

Accessorize With

Complete the look with a sleek belt, a watch, a smart clutch, and some chic diamond earrings. Throw on your favorite overcoat to keep warm.

Outfit #5: Fall Graphic Tees

Where to Wear: To the Pumpkin Patch | Carving Pumpkins at Home

What better way to celebrate pumpkin season than with some bright fall graphic tees. Hosting a pumpkin carving party at home? A graphic tee or sweatshirt is ideal to throw on when you know things will get messy. This is a great way to represent your love for fall and all things pumpkin flavored, whether you’re chilling at home or headed to a study date with friends.

Accessorize With

You can dress up your t-shirt with a sleek belt, a blazer, and some tailored denim, or throw on your favorite sweatpants and a cardigan for a cozy, work-from-home look.

Versatile Accessories for Consistent Style

Dressing for fall is a fun opportunity to blend coziness and comfort with style. But the key to building consistency is by choosing accessories that can seamlessly transition across the seasons by pairing with existing items in your closet throughout the year. Although these fall outfits offer flexible templates for the season, the accessories are versatile and can be worn across the year with different staple pieces from your wardrobe.

Pleaser Women’s Seduce 3000 white patent thigh high boots

I have finally bought a pair of white thigh high boots to try a white thigh high boots outfit look. I have to confess, I wish I’d bought the Steve Madden Viktory boots. They were on sale at DSW for $44 and I waited too long to get them.  I’ve previously purchased the Viktory in yellow and in cognac patent. I didn’t want to get a third pair of the same boots, but I feel like the white Viktory would have been a better option for this outfit.

Pleaser Seduce 3000 white thigh high boots 1

I am not in love with the Pleaser white patent Seduce 3000 (Price tag $83.95).

I won’t pretend that I’m familiar with Pleaser boots. I’ve seen them around while shopping online, and I’ve been intrigued by some of the styles. But I didn’t realize they’re fetish boots specifically. I’m still not really even sure that they are, but it does seem like that might be what they are. I’m thinking  Pleaser boots are not intended as general purpose fashion. But there weren’t many options for white thigh high boots that appealed to my taste in terms of style. And these looked chaste enough, minus the patent aspect. I’d hoped they could work for what I wanted. But they did not. These boots seem better suited for a sexy faux leather bodysuit or catsuit costume to be worn on stage for a performance. They are not for a white tuxedo look romper made of polyester that’s designed to be something you can wear generally. But since I’d already bought the romper (Fashion Nova) and the boots to do this outfit, I went ahead with my plans. It’s not like I had another pair of white thigh high boots or another outfit I could have worn instead of the romper.

My overall verdict on the boots

Pleaser Seduce 3000 white patent thigh high boots adelamonicaThigh high boots are fun for playing dress up and these are no exception. I had fun wearing them. I like playing dress up and there’s probably nothing that I wouldn’t wear and have fun because it’s not the item being worn that makes it fun. It’s just the dressing up and posing. So for that reason these boots served their purpose.

They were comfortable enough. I bought size 8 because they did not have 8.5. The fit was close but not necessarily tight, and they did not hurt my feet.

Heel Height

The heel height was quite manageable. It says they are 5-inch heels. They were more comfortable to walk in than some of the 4 inch heeled boots I’ve reviewed.

Material

These are plastic boots. They look like plastic and they feel and behave like plastic. The patent plastic aspect of the boots is what makes them what they are I suppose–boots that, according to what it says on the Internet, are worn typically by people for activities involving sensuality and seduction. I guess that’s the reason they’re called “Seduce”.

These are cheap boots in terms of how they look. The price wasn’t cheap if you’re penniless like me. They cost $83.95. I used AfterPay to obtain them, so I still have 3 payments to make.

Final Verdict

If you’re looking for white thigh high boots for a sexy faux leather costume, these are a good choice. If you’re looking for a pair of white thigh high boots that you might maybe be able to wear to work or to some event that’s not costume themed where people notice what you wear and talk about it, maybe these would not be the best choice.

The Romper…

adelamonica fashionnova Invading Your Privacy Blazer Romper white pleaser seduce 3000 white patent thigh high boots2Fashion Nova Invading Your Privacy Blazer Romper – White ($53.99)

The romper is alright. Like I said it wasn’t a good choice for styling patent thigh high boots. I think the styles clash a bit, but even still, I kind of liked the idea of the look. It would have worked if the boots had not been patent plastic.

Self confidence and self acceptance part 2

0
Self confidence and self acceptance 2 1

It’s been more than a year ago that I wrote Part 1 of ‘Self confidence and self acceptance’

What that means is, I am more than a year older than I was then. The relevance? None. I am still just me. I wake up every day with a sense of myself as being me in the present state of my aliveness. I am in the face and body of my today self, but I am no more my face or body now than last year or at any other point in my life. I am simply the living being that I am. My age simply tells the number of years that have passed since I began my living journey. And naturally, like every living thing, my appearance changes each year to reflect the stage of my journey.

I have not been focusing a great deal on skin care and other concerns with my physical appearance. Even my exercise routines which I’ve kept up since I was twelve or thirteen have been a struggle to keep up.

Self confidence and self acceptance 2 3

In part 1 I wrote:

Here’s the thing about the self-love journey (at least my own). It is an ongoing every day battle. It’s lifelong. Some days you feel invincibly confident and sure of your knowledge of self and your acceptance of self. Other days you’re riddled with self doubt and feelings of shame and self hate.

You might be wondering what is the cause of my current struggle with self confidence and self acceptance. Unlike in “Self confidence and self acceptance part 1”, my struggle is not with accepting myself because of how I look in a photograph. I think I’m doing pretty well with staying conscious of the need to love myself equally no matter how I look. That is not to say that it is an easy thing to do. I’m not here to pretend that aging is not difficult while living in an image focused world where people start treating you like you have less worth and value from the age of 30. But I have been consciously rejecting any thoughts and feelings that are self-hating, and self-critical relative to my external appearance. It takes work. It takes a certain amount of self-awareness to catch myself in the act and reject the thoughts and feelings before they get too deep into my psyche.

In the case of my present struggle, I believe that it is a combination of things, the tipping point of which was embarrassing myself by letting someone hear me cry who should never have experienced my tears. Word to the wise, when you are mentally and emotionally vulnerable, it is absolutely the worse time to place your trust in new characters who enter your life.  I met someone who won over my trust to the point where this person made me feel like I could lean on them and really allow myself to be vulnerable with them in a way I don’t think I have ever allowed myself to be vulnerable with anyone else. It wasn’t the wisest choice I’ve ever made.

If you’re still reading to this point, I know my writing can be very dense and boring with run-on sentences galore and a million other violations of grammar and good writing. So I thank you for reading despite all that.

But you know, people cannot make you place your trust in them. That is something you choose to do. Indeed they represent that they are worthy of your trust and they desire your trust and value your trust, but it is still on you to grant your trust. And if you grant it and it turns out to be a mistake, you have to accept full responsibility.

Self confidence and self acceptance 2 2

The problem is, I have not been accepting responsibility. I’ve been feeling betrayed, insulted, owed some kind of meaningful explanation and sincere apology. But the thing is, in this life, nobody owes you anything. I’ve said that to this person so many times they understand it clearly enough to have never felt the need to provide that meaningful explanation and sincere apology. And why should they? We are responsible for our own self. We have to decide what our friendship and our trust and our love are worth so that we don’t just freely offer these very valuable things to people who have not earned them. Our friendship and our trust and our love is not for every and anybody. Not everybody will value these gifts from us. To some people these are not worth anything. They might use what amounts serve a need they have in a moment, but we, as the source of it–the provider of it–we have no real and lasting value to them.

It is our responsibility to protect our self from those kinds of experiences. And if we fail our self, then we have to take responsibility for what we have done to our own self. This person did nothing to me that I did not make possible to be done. And it is with this that I have been struggling. I’ve been struggling to accept that I was foolish.  I’ve been feeling betrayed, but it is I who betrayed myself. I shared my deepest thoughts and feelings with someone whose friendship was not as they claimed it to be. And I cannot fault them because I should have been more intelligent in understanding that the kind of friendship that warrants that level of openness and honesty and vulnerable exposure of one’s most private self is a deep friendship that grows to its depth over time and through meaningful shared experiences.

Just because someone claims to be a friend and encourages you to trust them and to share your very heart and soul with them–that is not reason enough to go ahead and share all your hopes and dreams, and all your sorrows and your every random thought. (To be clear, I did also share my joys and make myself available to be shared anything with and tried as often to uplift with positive energy as I could be accused of seeking to be uplifted. Was I at times in a dark place and reached to this person for light? Yes. Could it have been too much for this person? Yes. But, this person mislead me to believe it was safe to reach out. Time and time again. At any point they had opportunity to be honest. They chose to repeat the same invitation and the same promises that it was okay.)

Nonetheless, there is no excuse for being so socially inept that you do not recognize in the first place that they don’t really mean it when they tell you that it’s okay. They don’t mean it when they tell you how much they love it when you write novel length emails telling them all the banal details of your life, along with all the dark stuff you go through and everything between. They say it because they expect that you are well enough trained in the social graces to not actually take them up on their invitation to tell them anything. They expect you to know the difference between a real friendship and a friendship that is just a word. And knowing the difference, you do not give someone who is a friend only in word the kind of access to your soul that you would give to a real and true friend.

Unfortunately, due to this disappointing experience, I suffered a bit of a setback where my confidence and my acceptance of self is concerned. I know perfectly well that no one should have the power to undermine your self confidence and your ability to accept yourself. And to be clear, it isn’t that this person has undermined my self confidence and my ability to accept myself. It is the foolishness I feel for having made such a big mistake in letting down my guard so completely.

I go back to that statement which I think is an important point–an intelligent person knows that friendship of the kind where you can trust your heart and your soul and the contents of your mind to another person–that kind of friendship doesn’t grow overnight. It’s a seed you plant and it grows over a lifetime. And it needs to reach a certain size and solid sturdiness before you can be sure that it is going to survive whatever all life will throw at it. And even then, you can’t really ever be sure. To have failed to understand this very important point is completely unforgivable.

But I have to forgive myself. And that is where I’m at right now. I have to accept this very big mistake that I made. I’ve spent months trying to not deal with it. And the way I did that was by continuing to be in contact–continuing to try to create ways for that person to engage with me so that I would feel like there is a connection. And if there is a connection then I don’t have to face the reality that I made one of the biggest mistakes I’ve ever made in my life. It might seem dramatic. But you see, I am not in the habit of being vulnerable like that with everybody. I admit that I am a very open person, but there’s a certain amount of consciousness about it. I don’t believe in being ashamed of the the things that have happened in your life. So I’ve shared a lot on the blogs I’ve maintained over the years. But there are nuances to openness–being publicly open in a memoir, or in my case on a blog, isn’t the same as being privately open with a confidant. And like I said, I don’t think I’ve ever been that wide open with anybody ever–to have felt safe enough to share all the things I shared–to have become emotionally attached to this person–this is not something I do every day. And to have the friendship I thought we shared tossed into the trash with a shrug and a “things change”, it’s hard to not feel ashamed of myself for having given this person that opportunity in the first place. I’m very frustrated with myself and it’s proving difficult to get past the shame and the frustration and the disappointment with myself. But I do know that I must get past it because confidence and self acceptance only get harder as we get older.

I have to put this behind me. I have to let go and move on.

One black one white thigh high boots black and white outfit

I know. It’s crazy to wear thigh high boots in the summer. But I didn’t buy these boots to wear out and about. I bought them to do this black and white outfit post. I’ve seen these boots on the Akira website for a little while and wondered about them. They seemed odd being one white and one black, but at the same time they intrigued me. I was curious. And so I bought them for $60. I also purchased a pair of black and white faux leather shorts and a black and white blouse from the same website to put together this outfit.

AZALEA WANG TAKE IT HIGHER BELTED STILETTO CHAP BOOT IN BLACK WHITE

My review…

The chap boots aspect was good in that it eliminates the problem of the boots falling down. So I liked that, but they seem better suited for a tall person. I had to fold them over twice and hook them up to create new loops in order to be able to insert the belt through the loops of my shorts. Otherwise I would have had to strap the belt at the level of my rib cage.

The two different color one black one white aspect

Azalea Wang black white belted chap boots

I feel like as long as you put together an interesting look, the two different colors–one black one white aspect of these boots is nothing you’ll feel self conscious about. Would there likely be someone who would wonder why in the world you’re wearing two different color shoes? Of course. But is that because there’s something wrong with wearing two different color shoes? Or is it because we all just go along with the idea that shoes have to match and that if you wear two different color shoes you’re weird?

The comfort factor

I have to say I did not find these boots to be the most comfortable. They strained my instep quite a bit. I had to take them off a few times before eventually having to wrap my pretend photo session short. It just became too much to bear the strain.

How easy are these boots to walk in?

These boots weren’t all that easy to walk in if your goal is to strut effortlessly. At least they weren’t for me. I’m sure they would be a cake walk if you’re a pro at walking in high heels.

About the rest of the look…

black and white two tone color block thigh high boots faux leather shorts puff sleeve blouse outfit idea 1
Of course, if what you’re doing that’s making you happy is not legal, moral, ethical, healthy or is otherwise inappropriate, or in violation of some rule that, if not followed will result in harm to you or others, you probably want to ignore this advice

I feel like this might have been a more interesting look if the items fit better. The top was just too much. I don’t mind that it’s roomy, but I don’t think the roominess was the best choice for this outfit. I’ll probably try it with a different outfit idea down the road. For this outfit, I don’t think it was the best fit.

The black and white faux leather shorts

The shorts were okay but not the best fitting. I am presently still packing some extra pounds, especially in the derriere region and where the shorts are concerned, it was snug in the derriere and hips. But a larger size would not have worked. The waist on these is already too big. And I simply don’t buy sizes to fit my body when my weight is temporarily elevated.

The miscellaneous…

Who even wears black in the summer?

black and white color block two tone thigh high boots faux leather shorts puff sleeve blouse outfit idea 1

It’s often said to be unwise to wear black in the summer. The reason given is that black absorbs heat, which will cause you to feel the burn of the summer sun more than if you were not wearing heat absorbing colors. And also, according to some articles found on the Internet, it is apparently also potentially damaging to your skin. Personally, I have worn black in the summer more than a few times. In fact, when I was younger I hardly ever wore any other color of clothing. I’ve found it to be true that black attracts the heat from the sun, but it seems to vary and depend on different factors. Yesterday, for example I went for a walk wearing a black t-shirt and black faux leather shorts. I felt the heat of the sun on my back but the leather shorts did not seem to draw any extra heat.

I think whether to wear black in the summer or not is the business of the person getting dressed and no one else’s. Some people adhere to the so-called fashion dos and donts. Others wear whatever they want. None of it really matters.

Life goes on…

20 Red lipsticks to try in your search for the best red lipstick

0
20 shades of red lipstick to elevate your confidence

Before we get to the list of 20 Red lipsticks to try in your search for the best red lipstick to elevate your confidence, let’s talk a little bit about red lipstick in general.

Does red lipstick make you look like a clown?

I wear red lipstick more often than any other color. I don’t doubt there are people who think I look like a clown when they see me wearing red lipstick. Sometimes the shade of red I use is just a touch too bright and even I can admit that it can look a little glaring. I think not every shade of red works for everybody, but I don’t think anyone should be compared to a clown for wearing a shade of red lipstick that might be a little too bright. My reasoning is simply because it’s just not a nice thing to do.

Is it true that women with darker skin tones should not wear red lipstick?

When I was a teenager the media used to push the message that women fitting my description should never wear red lipstick. But from the time I started wearing makeup, I recognized the power of red lipstick. A red lip was a force so powerful that it always managed to give me back what the media and those who bought into the media’s nonsense tried to take from me with their extensive list of things that made women fitting my description undesirable in one way or another. Red lipstick has always made me feel alive and vibrant. It enhances my mood and elevates my confidence.

At what age should a woman stop wearing red lipstick?

Apparently there is an age at which women should stop wearing red lipstick, or wearing any makeup at all. What that age is varies depending on the source of information.

If you Google the question, you’ll find an article on shine.yahoo.com that puts the age at 59 with this little blurb:

59 is the Age Women Should Stop Wearing Red Lipstick, Heavy Makeup, Study Finds. There is a time to start aging gracefully… (article)

So, apparently, somebody did a study. Whoever it was that did the study, they claim that they asked 2000 women what age should women stop wearing red lipstick, and based on the study, they came to the conclusion that women should stop wearing red lipstick at 59.

My advice to you is to live your life. Do you want you want. If you’re 90 years old and like to wear red lipstick. Wear it. It’s nobody’s business.

20 Red lipsticks to try in your search for the best red lipstick

This list is essentially a list of the 20 red lipsticks that I am planning on trying based on researching the best red lipsticks. The list is compiled from a number of different articles found around the Internet. As of this writing I have not tried any of the 20 red lipsticks yet. Some of them are quite expensive for a lipstick so it’s going to take me a while to manage to get my hands on all 20, but I plan on trying them out and letting you know which ones I like or don’t.

MAC Retro Matte Lipstick - Ruby Woo - $19

MAC Retro Matte Lipstick - Ruby Woo

Apparently MAC Retro Matte Lipstick – Ruby Woo is the ultimate red lipstick. It’s on every best red lipstick list I came across. According to cosmopolitan.com’s list of the “23 best red lipsticks of all damn time” (article here), Ruby Woo is the “Best Universally-Flattering Red Lipstick”. They claim that it looks “universally badass on everyone”. So how could I not want to try it? I’m thinking about putting it in my shopping cart today to get this experiment started, but it’s one of those things where I know I really cannot afford to spend $19 on a lipstick even if I might be able to get my hands on the $19 today. I’ll be spending $19 for a lipstick just to say I tried it.

Fenty Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored - $25

Fenty Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored

I have wanted to try Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored since it first came out; but I haven’t had a chance yet. I’m adding it to my list of red lipsticks to trying in my search for the best red lipstick. Apparently Rihanna’s goal in making her Stunna lip paint was to create a lipstick that would not come off no matter what. WWD describes it in their write up as a “universally flattering rich red” that “has 12 hours of hold, drying down to a weightless stain”. (article)

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Fire & Ice - $5

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Fire and Ice

According to the wwd.com “20 Best Red Lipsticks that Never Go Out Of Style”, Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lipstick in Fire & Ice is “one of the most iconic lip colors that has stood the test of time”. It has apparently been in production since 1952. Since it’s only $5 I have gone ahead and added it to my Amazon shopping cart. Given how long I’ve been wearing red lipstick I’m sure I’ve probably tried Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Fire & Ice before. I know from reading an old post reviewing the first (and so far only) Chanel lipstick I ever purchased, that I’ve purchased Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick before. Likely it was a red color since I mostly only buy red lipsticks. But I certainly do not remember the name of every red lipstick I’ve ever used. So I can’t swear it was Fire & Ice. (article)

Gucci Rouge à Lèvres Mat Matte Lipstick in Goldie Red - $42

Gucci Rouge à Lèvres Mat Matte Lipstick in Goldie Red

According to the gucci.com website the Rouge à Lèvres Mat is a “collection of intensely-hued lip colors with a long-lasting matte finish” that are “Specially formulated with rich pigment and gelling waxes” to deliver “vibrant color with a soft, velvety feel.” At $42 this lipstick is way out of budget. But I’m intrigued by the opulent look of it. The color looks exciting and is tempting my senses. So I’m adding it to my list given it appeared on more than one of the lists below. I have no idea when I will be in the position to pick up a $42 lipstick without feeling like I’ve done something highly irresponsible.

Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Pirate - $42

Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Pirate

Back in 2015, I purchased a Chanel lipstick and wrote up a review in “Review: That Rogue COCO ultra hydrating Chanel lipstick“. Yes, I misspelled Rouge and I only noticed today July 7 2022. I am mortified but I embarrass myself every day and it has not killed me yet so what’s another embarrassment to add to the list? In that review I said it was unlikely I would buy another Chanel lipstick. But I’m intrigued by this lipstick and would like to try it out. I like the rich look of the red.

Christian Louboutin Velvet Matte Lip Colour Rouge Louboutin - $90

Christian Louboutin Velvet Matte Lip Colour rouge louboutin

I have been curious about Christian Louboutin lipsticks for a few years. But, as you might imagine, someone who has to think long and hard about whether or not it would be wise to buy a $19 lipstick is certainly in no position to be thinking about buying a $90 lipstick. At least the option is there to use Afterpay; but considering I could get a whole outfit for the price of a Christian Louboutin lipstick, I’m not sure it would be the smartest thing in the world to afterpay purchase a $90 lipstick.

Via the christianlouboutin.com website, the lipstick is described: “as smooth as leather, as matte as suede, ROUGE LOUBOUTIN LIP COLOUR dresses your lips with a luxurious and intense velvet color.”

Dior Beauty Rouge Dior Lipstick in 999 - $42

Dior Rouge Dior Color 999

I admit that most of these reds look like they are the same color. So what need is there to try them all? I would say that the search for the ultimate red lipstick isn’t just about the color. It’s also about how the lipstick feels on your lips, how long the color stays on your lips, how it looks on your lips, what it does for your lips, how easy it is to apply and other such considerations.

Via Dior.com. it says about the Rouge Dior collection “Rouge Dior is the iconic longwearing Dior lipstick in couture color. It features natural-origin floral lip caring ingredients like red peony and pomegranate flower extracts for 16H comfort”. Is that why I’m intrigued? Not really. The color and texture just look inviting and tempting.

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick Balm in Tuxedo - $39

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick Balm in Tuxedo‘

This Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Shine Lipstick Balm in Tuxedo looks a bit too bright of a red for me; but nonetheless I am intrigued to try it. Sometimes a bright red is striking in a good way depending on the purpose for which it is being used. Some bright reds are just too bright red to not look obviously not a good choice for me, but I don’t really know until I put it on how it’s going to look. NYX Perfect Red is a pretty bright red but I find that I like the way it looks on me. Clinique Ruby Pop is a bright red that I’d classify as being a bit too bright for me unless I use it more as a stain than a lipstick.

Fashion Nova vs Azalea Wang black faux leather thigh high boots

adelamonica red saturday june 25 2022 for black faux leather knee high boots vs thigh high boots

I tried out some looks for fun on Saturday (June 25 2022). I paired some of the looks with the black faux leather over the knee boots featured in the March 11th 2022 post titled “Fashionnova black thigh high over the knee boots“. With some of the other looks I went with the Azalea Wang black faux leather thigh high boots featured in “Before you buy those black over the knee stretchy vegan leather thigh high boots“.

The Fashion Nova boots with the bow details worn with the black faux leather shorts from “Before you buy those black over the knee stretchy vegan leather thigh high boots“ and a black leather strapless top that’s not really a top. It’s actually a skirt that I’ve turned upside down.

Black faux leather over the knee boots faux leather shorts leather red circle headpiece top

The red circle from my “It’s All Up To Me” single cover is actually a head piece that goes with the red dress I commissioned for the “My Perfect Life” video concept that never came to light. The one featured in the post “My super long flowy red dress“. The footage and photo quality for this Saturday impromptu photo session was pretty low. I didn’t get anything usable for this look with the headpiece worn as a top paired with the black faux leather shorts and the Fashion Nova bow detail over the knee boots.

Adelamonica It's All Up To Me

Saturday June 25 2022 playing with black thigh high boots

The impromptu photo session started with me trying on a jumpsuit that I purchased from Fashion Nova as a costume for filming footage of myself singing some of my songs. I purchased the jumpsuit back in February. It’s the “Disco Fever Embellished Jumpsuit – Gold” – $29.99.  I decided to pair it with the boots from “Before you buy those black over the knee stretchy vegan leather thigh high boots“.

So which pair of boots do I prefer of the two?

Of the two pairs of boots, I like the Azalea Wang boots better overall. But there are things I like about the Fashion Nova boots more than the Azalea Wang. I prefer the Fashion Nova boots for the fact that they stay put while the Azalea Wang boots keep falling down. I like the bow detail on the Fashion Nova boots. I prefer the look of the stiletto heel on the Fashion Nova boots. It’s thinner which gives it a sexier look. While both styles are pointed toe, I find that the Azalea Wang look better on the feet. The Azalea Wang aren’t exactly easy to walk in but they are easier to walk in than the Fashion Nova boots in my opinion.

Wearing magenta pink satin top with green faux leather pants

Wearing pink with green magenta pink satin top green faux leather pants

It’s officially summer 2022. Here’s to a memorable summer. For anyone for whom this will be a summer spent grieving or otherwise suffering, let us strive remain aware of the suffering of others while still being grateful for every new day and for the opportunity to create joyful memories.

Happy Tuesday June 21 2022 summer is officially hereHappy Tuesday June 21, 2022.

I hope all is well with you. I’m doing decently okay myself. The day is off to a pleasant start. It’s sunny. I’m making headway with a song that I’m trying to write. I’m feeling good and I’m grateful because life is challenging overall (for everybody). It’s good to have moments when you feel okay. And I think it’s important to acknowledge it.

So, in my previous post I demonstrated a look with a green satin top and pink faux leather pants worn with green ankle boots.

In this post post, the color scheme is the same (pink + green), but I am switching to a magenta pink top with green faux leather pants and a pair of patent pink faux leather ankle boots.

Wearing pink with green / green with pink

Like I said in the previous post, nature pairs green and pink all the time so I don’t see any reason not to pair green with pink especially in the summer time.

The items I’m wearing:

  • Fashion Nova Chic Moment Satin Shirt – Magenta $27.99
  • Fashion Nova Having A Moment Faux Leather Pant – Kelly Green $27.99
  • AZALEA WANG OVER AND OUT STILETTO BOOTIE IN PINK $70 (via shopakira.com)

Fashion Nova Chic Moment Satin Shirt - Magenta $27.99

Fashion Nova Chic Moment Satin Shirt Magenta pink

This is a cute shirt, but don’t wear it in 90 degree weather. It was very hot yesterday when I attempted to capture footage and photos for this illustration post. I began to feel like I would start sweating visibly under my arms. I had to cut short the outdoors session. Had I not abandoned filming outdoors, I would definitely have started showing sweat under my arms. The material is not actually satin but 100% polyester with a satin look, and polyester is not typically a recommended material for hot weather.

Fashion Nova Having A Moment Faux Leather Pant - Kelly Green

Fashion Nova Having A Moment Faux Leather Pant - Kelly Green

These are not the best fitting pants ever, but they’re reasonably comfortable, even in 90 degree weather. They did not induce sweating as leather can sometimes do when worn in hot weather. These pants were NOT very flattering to my derriere.

AZALEA WANG OVER AND OUT STILETTO BOOTIE IN PINK

These are not very comfortable boots. They are difficult to walk in and the material of which they are made is quite hard. They are very shiny and definitely will not enable you to blend in with the crowd if you wear them. You will surely be noticed for your patent hot pink faux leather footwear. The gold accents make them even more noticeable, so they definitely would not be the most ideal choice if blending in is your preference. Or if you fear people’s opinion. These are definitely boots that style conformists might place in the “don’t wear” category. Personally I think they’re fun. I just wish they were also comfortable.

That’s it for today’s post. I hope it was in some way useful if you happen to be trying to decide if you can wear a magenta pink satin top with green faux leather pants and patent pink faux leather ankle boots. I think you can, but that’s just my opinion. If you happen to be shopping for magenta pink tops or green leather pants or patent pink faux leather ankle boots, consider using the buttons below. They are affiliate buttons linking you to products on Amazon. If you make a purchase I will get a small commission. I thank you in advance if you do make a purchase.

Wearing a green satin top with pink faux leather pants

Fashion nova green satin shirt pink faux leather pants Akira green ankle boots square toe

Wondering how a green satin top looks with pink faux leather pants? I was curious, so I bought a green satin shirt and a pair of pink faux leather pants from Fashion Nova.

Fashion nova green satin shirt pink faux leather pants

I also picked up a pair of green ankle boots from Akira to wear with the outfit. I think Akira is going to become my go-to for shoes. Their selection seems more extensive and more interesting than Fashion Nova. They also seem to have some interesting items of clothing so maybe I’ll start buying clothes from there as well. Their prices are a bit higher so it remains to be seen if I will be able to afford to make any purchases. The shoes I’ve bought there to date have been on sale for $20.

Recently Purchased Items

  • Fashion Nova Smooth Talkin’ Button Down Top – Green $20.99
  • Fashion Nova Having A Moment Faux Leather Pant – Pink $27.99
  • AZALEA WANG SQUARE UP STILETTO BOOTIE IN GREEN $20

I didn’t actually buy these items with the intention of wearing them to go out. I just wanted to put a look together for a blog post and I thought I would try to make it useful in case someone is curious how a green satin top looks with pink faux leather pants.

Fashion nova green satin shirt pink faux leather pants Akira green square toe ankle boots

This might not be the style of top or style of pants I would choose did I have the option to be picky and choosy. But I don’t have that option presently. I have to buy what is available at the places where I can afford to shop.

By the way, if you’re in the market for a pair of pink leather pants, you can shop for pink leather pants on Amazon by clicking the affiliate button below. I will get a small commission. I thank you in advance if you do happen to use the link to make a purchase.

So this is my attempt at putting together a green satin top with pink faux leather pants outfit. I hope it was useful in some way, even if it was useful in confirming for you that wearing a green top with pink faux leather pants is not for you. For me, I don’t mind the combination. It’s bold and bright and it exists in nature. There are pink flowers in existence and where there are flowers of any color there are green leaves. So nature combines pink with green rather vibrantly and beautifully.

Thank you for reading.

How does an orange dress look with yellow shoes

0

Wondering how an orange dress looks with yellow shoes? I put together an orange dress yellow thigh high boots look for a pretend photo session yesterday. In case you have arrived here specifically trying to see some examples of how an orange dress looks with yellow shoes, I hope this gives you an idea. It’s not meant to be taken for style advice or suggestions on what to wear. It is only meant to give a visual answer to the question “How does an orange dress look with yellow shoes”. Needless to say, how an orange dress looks with yellow shoes really depends on the dress and the shoes and how you accessorize your look. And most importantly on how you think it looks. How I think your outfit looks makes no difference if you like it.

orange dress yellow steve madden thigh high boots5

This look is admittedly cheap and basic. I’m sure someone else could take the same pieces I’ve selected and make them look more interesting. I’m a grab it and throw it on kind of dresser. I don’t spend a whole lot of time putting outfits together to try to achieve a particular look. I also don’t need anything elaborate and fancy to wear generally. A cheap and basic dress works just fine for me. This doesn’t mean that if someone let me loose in a high end boutique and told me I could take whatever I wanted I wasn’t going to be like a candy loving kid let loose in a candy store. It would be nice to be able to get my hands on some more interesting clothes. But for now I wear what I’ve got, which is what I can afford.

I wish I had additional pairs of yellow shoes to use for illustrating how an orange dress looks with yellow shoes.

But the yellow Steve Madden thigh high boots that I’m wearing here are the only pair of yellow shoes I own.

Where does one wear an outfit like this?

I’d be intrigued to see someone take this outfit to the streets. I think if you are someone with a high level of confidence you could wear this outfit where ever you choose to wear it. Because your confidence makes it so you can wear anything to go anywhere.

To be entirely honest, this outfit came about because I’m unable to buy anything new right now due to having no funds. So I had to try to think of an angle for a look so that I could still get a post and video done using what’s in my closet, which isn’t much in terms of quantity and quality.

orange dress yellow steve madden thigh high boots 7

Outside of wearing this outfit to illustrate a blog post, I would not wear this look to go out in public myself except as an experiment to challenge myself to grow my courage and gain experience practicing not caring who thinks what about what I wear. I like bold bright colors but I do think that mixing bold bright colors takes a little bit more of a keen sense of style than I personally possess. I definitely think you can make an orange dress yellow shoes look work. But you’d probably want to be a little bit more creative than this.

If you google orange dress yellow shoes you’ll come across examples of how to pair these two colors and get admiring looks instead of the kind of look I would certainly attract were I to venture out into public in this outfit.

orange dress yellow steve madden thigh high boots 2

Not that is should matter what anyone thinks about what you wear. If you like how you look, that’s all that matters.

The dress that I’m wearing I purchased from Amazon last September. You can find it via this affiliate link

The boots were also purchased from Amazon. They are the Steve Madden boots featured in the post “Fashionnova yellow lace romper with yellow thigh high boots”

That’s all for now. Check out the short little video of me wearing the outfit outside on the front and back porch at home. If you can’t see the video, click the button to watch it on YouTube. Thanks for reading and watching.

Steve Madden patent cognac faux leather thigh high boots

This post was going to be titled “Grilling in Thigh High Boots”, but my footage didn’t come out the way I wanted it to yesterday (Memorial Day). I decided to wear my latest pair of over the knee thigh high boots to do some cooking on the barbecue grill for Memorial Day 2022. I just thought it would make for an interesting angle for this review. Life is short. And for me, there’s not much that’s fun to do generally. My thrills have to be created out of absurd ideas. But, unfortunately, my idea for doing a “Grilling in thigh High Boots” approach to reviewing these Steven Madden cognac patent faux leather Viktory thigh high boots did not work out because I wasn’t able to get any interesting material to use. So I’ll leave that idea for another time. Maybe I’ll grill in stiletto ankle boots instead of thigh highs. Or some other interesting shoes equally unsuited for grilling. We’ll see.

In the meantime, let’s get to my review of these Steve Madden boots. They are the cognac patent faux leather version of the yellow Viktory boots reviewed in “Fashionnova yellow lace romper with yellow thigh high boots

Steve Madden cognac patent faux leather thigh high boots fashion nova Boss Babe Romper rust

I styled the boots with a romper from Fashionnova “Boss Babe Romper” in rust. I probably could have stood to buy the small. The XS was a bit snug. The romper is decent although the material isn’t the most spring/summer suitable. It’s 95% polyester 5% spandex.

The Steve Madden thigh high boots…

Steve Madden patent faux leather cognac thigh high boots

Speaking of things being spring/summer suitable, I know it’s not exactly sensible to wear faux patent leather thigh high boots in hot weather, but I didn’t find these boots uncomfortable because of hot weather. I think you can wear thigh high boots in hot weather if you want. Probably peep toe thigh high boots would draw less attention if you’re concerned about what other people might think. But you should never care what anyone else thinks about what you’re wearing. It’s rude to be watching people and judging their attire. It’s nobody’s business but your own what you chose to wear. Nobody else needs to like your style but you. I know I’ve commented in past blog posts about other people’s clothing choices. Shame on me. And if I should slip up and comment in the future, as after all I am human, shame on me for any future judgements I make on other people’s choice of attire. It’s none of my bleeping business what anybody else is wearing.

What I think of the boots

  • I might have preferred them to be a bit less shiny and glossy
  • They’re comfortable enough to just have on, but not so comfortable to walk in. The yellow Viktory thigh high boots I reviewed in “Fashionnova yellow lace romper with yellow thigh high boots” were easier to walk in and more comfortable to wear
  • They take a little work to get on and off

How long can you keep and wear cheap clothes?

0
Who keeps a Forever 21 $12.90 dress for 4 years Camel rib knit body con long sleeved mini dress

My clothes are cheap and it’s not because I’m frugal. It’s because I don’t have money to afford expensive things. Fortunately for me, I’m not usually preoccupied with wanting this or that thing. I don’t value things a great deal, and as far as my cheap clothes are concerned, it doesn’t usually occur to me until somebody else makes a comment that the fact my clothes are cheap matters in any way. Because to me clothes are clothes. Are some things more interesting than others? Naturally, but I’m not going to be impressed by a dress just because it comes with a $10000 price tag and unimpressed with another because it costs $10.

Who keeps a Forever 21 $12.90 dress for 4 years Camel rib knit body con long sleeved mini dress2

My cheap clothes are usually kept and worn for as many years as they hold up. In the case of this $12.90 Forever 21 camel rib-knit mini body con dress, I purchased it in 2017 and here it is 2022. I pulled it out and used it in my pretend modeling photo session earlier this week. It’s a wee bit tighter now than when I first purchased it, but I figure a body conscious dress can be a little tight right?

Who keeps a Forever 21 $12.90 dress for 4 years Camel rib knit body con long sleeved mini dress

How long can you keep and wear cheap clothes?

I suspect the answer to this question will come down to the individual. Speaking for myself, most of the items in my closet are years old. I think they stay wearable for a while because I don’t wear them very often due to my life being uneventful and spent primarily at home wearing “home clothes”.

I have no issues with wearing cheap clothes. I’m not here to pretend or to try to keep up with anyone. I just want to represent the idea that it’s okay to be who you are. If you don’t have money and you don’t have the nicest clothes but you want to take pictures of yourself in your clothes and make videos of yourself pretend modeling in your clothes, do it. Don’t be afraid of what anyone is going to think or say. It really doesn’t matter. Just live your life.

How I styled my $12.90 Forever 21 camel long sleeved mini body con dress

I cinched my waist with a broad Fashionnova belt. You probably shouldn’t cinch your waist so tight that it makes adipose tissue ripple and fold over, but it’s really not as tight as it looks.

I donned gold costume jewelry accessories. A gold choker necklace, my mothers gold costume bangles and some gold dangle earrings.

I wore the boots featured in “Fashionnova nude thigh high over the knee boots

And I wore a ridiculously long braid because it was fun. Because life is short and I don’t want to spend the rest of mine deciding what to do or not do based on what I fear other people might think about my choices.

So I purchased a white shirtdress from Fashionnova recently. The exact product name: Gone Away Poplin Shirt Dress $21.99

I chose it for a pretend photo shoot yesterday and styled it with a pair of boots that I purchased from shopAkira.com for $20. The boots were on sale. The original price was $99, but it’s one of those cases where, to me, I don’t see where the boots are worthy of a $99 price tag.

The Boots: AZALEA WANG MORE THAN JUST THE NIGHT STILETTO BOOT IN BLACK

More than just the night black over the knee stiletto thigh high boots2

I did learn an important lesson from purchasing these boots. When something that has a $99 price tag is on sale for $20, there’s a reason and it’s usually that it’s not in the best ever condition. The boots were a hot mess in that the top part just kept flopping over. And these are not boots that you can still wear even if they are slouching or flopping over because the inside material is not meant to be seen. So, as I was forced to do with the other very similar pair of Azalea Wang boots featured in the post “Before you buy those black over the knee stretchy vegan leather thigh high boots“, I had to sew on some straps to create a fastening device so I could keep the boots from flopping over.

So I styled the Fashionnova white shirt dress with these black thigh high over the knee boots. I added a broad black faux leather belt which would have looked better had the shirt dress not been designed with the band in the back.

Fashionnova white shirt dress short button down button front dressUnfortunately the belt did not fully cover the band and so it looked a wee bit unsightly. But I wanted to wear a broad black belt with the dress.

The belt: Fashionnova On A New Level Wide Belt – Black $5.99

To complete the look I added some gold-look costume necklaces. And I painted my nails because it’s hard to always be trying to hide my fingers so no one will notice I didn’t paint my nails. I don’t generally wear near polish because I can never keep the polish on. I always scrape it off with my teeth in a nervous habit. Not to mention I always manage to mess it up before it dries because I can never keep my hands still long enough.

So, this is my take on how to wear a white shirt dress with black thigh high boots.

Fashionnova gold Top of the Line Body Chain – $9.99

Fashionnova gold body chain wear over clothes looks yellow tank top black denim shorts
Bought this body chain from Fashionnova last month. I won’t get into whether or not body chains are appropriate for people over a certain age. Anyone of the opinion that some people are too old to wear body chains has the right to their opinion. For me, personally, I reject such ideas.

I’ll get straight to the review of the body chain. First of all, it arrived broken so that’s the reason it might look like I didn’t hook it up right. I had to rig it up because I otherwise would not have been able to wear it.

Putting it on…

At first I was confused, but then I realized it’s not complicated at all and since I’m sure I am the only person on the planet who would have had trouble figuring it out at first, I won’t bother with how-to details. It really is pretty straight forward.

Shopping for body chains?

If you are shopping for body chains, there are some interesting body chains on Amazon, some of which I am wanting to get my hands on myself. As soon as money allows I will do some reviews of some of these body chains. In the meantime, click the button below to shop body chains on Amazon. It is an affiliate link which means if you buy something I’ll get a commission that will help me get a little closer to being able to afford to buy another body chain to review. So thank you in advance.

Aside from the fact that it came broken, the body chain did its job. It’s cheap, but not in an insulting way. It’s obviously not strong and sturdy given it’s $9.99, but it doesn’t feel embarrassingly flimsy as you might expect. In my personal opinion, it looks good enough for what it is. And it feels like you could get a few uses out of it before you have to put it in the trash.

For me, it’s unlikely I would wear the body chain with my midriff bared, but I did put it on my Mannequin Justine to illustrate how it looks worn with the midriff bared. Just a reminder that because it came broken I had to fasten it however I could, so it’s fastened in the front instead of the back.

Not another thigh high boots over the knee boots post! Yep. It’s another thigh high boots over the knee boots post from me. This time I’m reviewing a pair of boots I purchased from Dolls Kill. These are a pair of black stretchy vegan leather boots that looked pretty sleek and caught my attention. So I bought I pair to do an outfit post.

Black thigh high boots over the knee vegan leather stretchy Dolls Kill Mindful Azalea Wang thigh high boots

Let’s get straight to the review: The Dolls Kill price tag for these boots is $100. They were on sale for $50. With taxes and shipping I paid $63.18. Even at that price they are cheap to people with money, I know. I’m not someone with money, so if I’m going to pay that amount for anything I want to come away feeling like it’s worth that amount of money. I can’t say that I feel like these boots are worthy of the $100 price tag.

I suppose the vegan leather feature is the justification for the price tag, but I feel like these boots are going to tear if I’m not extra careful while putting and that, to me, makes them super cheap. I’d say they shouldn’t cost more than $30 if that much.

AZALEA WANG Mindful Thigh High Boots black over the knee boots back view

Over all the boots look okay until they start slouching. And boy do they slouch. They simply will not stay up unless your thighs are thick enough to keep them up or you don’t devise a way to keep them up. Otherwise they will slouch to knee high height and even below the knee. I had to sew inconspicuous hooks into the sides and insert a string to keep up the boots for my first day of filming.

how to keep your thigh high boots from slouching

These are supposed to be mid-thigh boots, but I had to pull them up to where my thighs were thickest to hold them in place, even with the device I constructed to hold them up.

I did my filming on Friday and Saturday. I did not need to use the string device to hold up the boots on Saturday because my thighs were thicker thanks to water retention issues, but the boots still had to be pulled all the way up, and they did still keep falling and slouching and constantly needing to be pulled back up. Just not not as much as on the day before when there was just no way to keep them from falling below my knees without the string laced through the hooks that I sewed into the sides then pulled up under the legs of my shorts and crisscrossed and tied around my waist. I know they sell things I could use that I could have clipped to the boots and the shorts, but I didn’t have any such things on hand, so I had to improvise. (See the end of this post for steps in case you’re in a pinch and nothing else is working. I’m pretty certain there are plenty of other less ridiculous ways. But in case none of the less ridiculous ways are working, you can try my way.)

Basically, you’ll have a less annoying time with these boots if your thighs are a little thicker around mid-thigh than the circumference of the boot opening.

How do the boots fit?

I wear size 8.5 and I bought size 8.5. They fit pretty comfortably.  They were pretty easy to walk in. I’m not sure of the heel height, but according to my measurement it’s about 4.5 inches. But they don’t feel terribly high to walk in. I feel like I could do a ten minute  walk around the neighborhood without experiencing too much difficulty. But that’s just a feeling. I didn’t actually take a ten minute walk around the neighborhood in the boots so I could be wrong. Maybe that will be something to put to the test.

How to keep your thigh high boots from slouching

I figured I’d add this to the post in case someone is looking for a way to keep their boots from slouching who doesn’t have the time to go out and purchase something. I’m sure there are plenty of ideas out there. I’m adding mine with the disclaimer that it worked for me but I’m not going to promise it will work for you. **This will only work if you’re wearing shorts or a skirt. It will not work with long pants.

You will need:

  • Needle and thread
  • Black string
  • Scissors
  1. Cut a piece of string into four equal pieces of about an inch in length
  2. Fold the string so that the ends touch to make a loop and sew into the sides of the boots as shown in the picture below. how to keep your thigh high boots from slouchingKeep in mind that you don’t want to sew through to the outside of the boots so if there’s not a way for you to sew the strings into the sides of the boots without sewing through the boot fabric and making it noticeable on the outside, don’t use this method.
  3. Once you have four loops sewn into the inside sides of your boots, take another piece of string that’s long enough to loop through both boots, get pulled up under your skirt or shorts, and tied around your waist, and do exactly that–pull the string through the loops of the boots and up under your skirt or shorts then tie it around your waist

Final thoughts about the Azalea Wang black vegan leather Mindful thigh high boots

The boots are okay. They’re quite comfortable as far as the fit and the ability to walk in the heels. They are frustrating in the way they slouch and have to be pulled up all the time. Because of how high up I have to pull them, they can really only be worn with a very short skirt or short shorts if the objective is to show off the boots. Otherwise they will be partially hidden underneath even mid-thigh length clothing. That of course will vary depending on your height. I could see myself trying another pair in a different color to do another outfit post; but I doubt that I will buy another pair of these. I think they are very much overpriced.

Top 10 Tips for Getting the Best Micro Bikini Poses

0

Before hitting the beach or yacht club for your next photo session, you’ll need a look that’s guaranteed to make some waves. Reveal your hottest features and master the moves to really show it off.

Feel like a total babe and pro model by utilizing these ten tips for posing in a bikini. Whether you’re looking to bring poise and elegance to your look or just want to go for raw sex appeal, up your game with these best bikini poses!

How to Pose in Your Micro Bikini

The following are some general tips that will help bring your bikini modeling to the next level. Best to add your own signature flare, of course!

  1. Accentuate your curves. Try twisting your hip without facing the camera straight on. Being dynamic with your stance shows your flirtatious side and sexiest features.
  2. Use triangle poses. Spread your legs to form a triangle, but be sure to angle your body slightly away from the camera. The sexiest women show confidence, and this powerful stance will show just that.
  3. Open up your chest. Body language is important when posing in a bikini. The best bikini poses show an open and extended body. By pulling your shoulders back, straightening your posture, and keeping your arms neutral, you’re creating a strong silhouette that radiates confidence.
  4. Work with the environment. If you’re at the beach, push yourself up while lying in the sand to create that curve on your back. Use railings, a boat, or anything else as inspirational props. Look around and do your thing!
  5. Embrace your beauty and ravish in the limelight. If you love the way you look and feel good, the camera will pick that up, too. Selecting the sexiest bikini can do exactly that.
  6. Stand on your tiptoes. Not only will your legs look more toned, but you will feel longer, more elegant, and confident as ever! Complete the look by being flirtatious with your hair, sunglasses, or hat.
  7. Bring your hips forward. Go long and extend your body but bring your hips forward to create that naughty look. Add that fearless shape when posing in a bikini.
  8. Don’t be so serious. Some of the best bikini poses show the model’s playful side. Flirt with the camera. Smile. Sultry, stoic expressions are sexy, sure, but so is having fun.
  9. Be mindful of your arms. From a side view, when you move your arms back, they may look bigger. Pushing them forward can help you achieve that ultra-flattering beach pic.
  10. Tease the paparazzi. You know these pics—a hand reaching out to cover the camera as the hottest celebs make their way through the crowd. These shots are not only more playful and popular, but they offer a candid appeal.

Why Pheromone Scent Matters in Your Daily Routine

0

Most of us don’t consider pheromone scent when choosing our personal care products. A confident person can afford not to, because she is most likely already benefiting from a stronger pheromone presence. If you need to boost that confidence, however, choosing quality personal care products that help you look and feel your best while also complementing your body’s natural chemistry can help you put your best foot forward. A potent pheromone scent can help you get noticed in social and professional situations where a good first impression lays the groundwork for success.

 Nature’s Calling Card

Pheromones are aromatic compounds released through the sebaceous glands in your pores. These chemical signals are inhaled by those around you, where they bond with receptor sites causing certain responses. In animals, these responses are finely tuned and can communicate danger, fear, or an interest in mating. As humans evolved, we’ve become less reliant on this form of communication, but the physical mechanisms and instinctual responses that are dependent on pheromone scents remain.

 Human Pheromones Today

Most modern products are designed to cover up your natural scent, cloaking you in clouds of perfumes and fragrances while harsh chemicals scour your skin. Every time you shower, take care of your skin, or put on deodorant, you’re erasing or masking the very chemical signature that’s unique to you: a pheromone scent that can help you get noticed in all the right ways. You can be a confident person without subjecting your body to an abusive personal care regimen.

 Modern Personal Care

Quality care products are gentler on the skin, and they’re designed to work with your body’s natural chemistry, not against it. Natural extracts like eucalyptus and peppermint have long been used to invigorate the skin and the senses, keeping you feeling fresh and clean. The real advancement, however, is in the infusion of Pheroboost.

Rather than hiding behind smells that aren’t yours, use quality personal care products that accentuate your own natural attractants, helping you feel like a more confident man as you create great impressions on those around you.

Put Yourself On The A  List

It’s time you had a daily care routine you can be confident in, with a body wash, shampoo, that can help you stand out from the crowd. Keep clean and let your pheromone scent do its job.

Top Fashion Items in a Pandemic-Ridden World

0

All aspects of life-as-we-know-it have changed in unexpected ways, and fashion is very much included in this. The need for “going-out” clothes has greatly diminished, and cute and comfortable styles have taken center stage to replace our previously adored fashion items. Curious about the top fashion items in a pandemic-ridden world? We’ve got your back. Read on to learn all about the must-haves of a quarantined fashionista.

Loungewear

COVID-19 has shed some serious light on the importance of self-care and “me-time”. After a year of discomfort outside of the home, we’ve all prioritized the comfort of staying in. And in many cases, we’ve mastered it! Loungewear was always important. But these days, having the perfect loungewear set for your next Netflix binge or work from home day is beyond critical. Why not look your best while staying comfy? Choose a few ultra-cozy sets, but also look for more elevated sets that would be appropriate for work or a Zoom meeting. That’s right — dressy two-piece sets are a thing! Look for neutral styles and layer on attractive jewelry for a pop.

LoungewearVenturing out into the real world again with any semblance of normalcy will be a treat, for sure, but let’s never forget the importance of a good loungewear set and how versatile they can be for both casual and semi-formal occasions.

Low-Key, Easy Dresses

The luxury of being able to throw on a casual, flowy dress when you have to run simple errands (like going to the grocery store or to the post office) requires an arsenal of gorgeous, easy dresses. Shop for chic women’s dresses that combine simple silhouettes with meaningful details. Opt for a patterned midi dress or tiered floral maxi that will be comfortable and cool while offering some contemporary style. As restrictions lift, you’ll find more opportunities to incorporate dresses back into your everyday wardrobe besides your daily errands.

Attractive Face Masks

In 2019, cute face masks may have sounded like a total oxymoron. Why on earth would we opt to cover our faces? But by now, we all know the necessity of having several go-to breathable and cute face masks to throw on any time we venture out of the comfort of our own homes. We are all about the classic-looking black face masks, but also the adorable prints that make a statement of undeniable style. Shop for fun patterns and prints or color-coordinate your face masks with your outfits for a put-together look.

Casual and Comfy Shoes

Gone are the days where walking around in stilettos made sense (but we are truly confident that they will return soon). The global pandemic made it obvious that having sensible and attractive shoes was a complete necessity. Find gorgeous and affordable shoes to slip on and make your outfit sensibly complete. Opt for comfy mules for work or cushiony sandals for around the house and running errands.

Make the end of your quarantine fashionably fantastic. Although things have changed, that doesn’t mean you don’t have the right to look cute while we come together as a community and deal with COVID-19. We predict that some of these styles and fashions will be here to stay for quite some time. After all, we cannot imagine going from comfy joggers to stiff jeans at the snap of a finger. Make the most of your wardrobe and soak up these comfy styles as we slowly approach our normal lives.
