The Balmain Wool-Silk Draped Side Skirt is jet black with gathered sides and a wrap style front. It’s a sexy little mini skirt.
You might have seen Zoe Saldana wearing the fuchsia version of the skirt back in April. She attended the Star Trek: Into Darkness German Premiere event showing some serious leg. She wore her fuchsia Balmain gathered mini skirt with a $9 020 Balmain sequin embellished leather back top.
Zoe’s skirt and top combine for a total price tag of $11 890.

If I did have a Balmain Wool-Silk draped wrap mini skirt in my closet I would wear it with this Peter Pilotto Lana Top in Ember. It makes sense that if I could afford a skirt for $2,870 I could afford a $629 top. So I would buy this Peter Pilotto Lana Top to wear with my black Balmain Wool-Silk draped wrap mini skirt.
How gorgeous is this top? Such vibrant” rich colors and such artful print detailing. The colors in the top are listed as:
- Black
- White
- Jade
- Red
- Mustard
It’s made of 100% Viscose. For me it would be even more perfect if the sleeves were three-quarter length and the neckline was a v-neckline instead of a round neckline; but I’ll still take it as is.
With this Balmain black mini skirt and Peter Pilotto fitted top outfit I will wear a pair of FENDI Sand/Black/Scarlet Raffia/Embossed Leather Platform Sandals.
These sandals come with a $1,035 price tag. They are described as “Fendi’s statement-making colorblocked strappy sandals”. The only statement I can hear them making is” “We know we’re a gorgeous pair of shoes and you wish you could afford us but you’ll never be able to afford us so stop dreaming.
They are gorgeous shoes though.
Now for the bag…
I have selected this PAULA CADEMARTORI Leather Sylvie Clutch in Black. It is described as a “stud-laden leather clutch from Italo-Brazilian accessory designer Paula Cademartori”. It is made of black calfskin leather and features mixed metal stud embellishments. It has a front flap with magnetic snap closure chain-detailed buckled shoulder strap a back handle inside zippered back wall pocket two front wall slot pockets and satin lining. You get all these nice features for $1,595. What do you think? A reasonable price? Highway robbery?
I don’t know. $1″ 595 is a lot of money to spend on a bag; but it’s a nice looking bag. Still though–it’s bag….

For this outfit I won’t wear a necklace because the top is enough of a statement piece by itself. It doesn’t need the distraction of a necklace; and I won’t wear any bracelets or wrist jewelry.
