A trip to the French Riviera could mean that you are going to visit any of several towns and cities located in the South of France.
Some of the more well known French Riviera locales include:
The French Riviera has a reputation for being glamorous, luxurious, swanky, and so expensive that it’s mostly a playground for rich and famous people.
In fact, many rich and famous are in Cannes at the moment for the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.
The 68th annual Cannes Film Festival started last Wednesday May 13th 2015 and will wrap up around Sunday May 24th 2015.
Many of the celebs who are in Cannes for the film festival have posted pictures of their fun times to their Instagram pages. The view through their eyes looks pretty spectacular. We come away from browsing their Instagram pics thinking that a holiday in the South of France must be truly awesome. Because these celebs get to go every year and they never seem to get used to the experience. It seems to be a new and exciting experience each and every time.
Needless to say, a trip to the French Riviera is going to cost you a bit of money. Although we did read that a budget backpacking trip is doable. But if what you’re looking to experience is the luxury you see in pics like the ones Eva Longoria posted to her Instagram page showing herself enjoying her time in Cannes for the film festival, you’d better be prepared to dip mighty heavily into your life savings.
Of course, Cannes is only one of many locales in the South of France. There are other towns that might not necessarily have the reputation of exclusivity and the prohibitive costs to go with the rep. You might be able to travel to less glamorized locales and still experience the beautiful Mediterranean coastline of the southeast corner of France for less money.
