Looking forward to Spring? We sure are. This hasn’t necessarily been the worse winter in history so far, but it’s still dull and uninspiring enough. We did manage to get some inspiration from browsing Reese Witherspoon’s instagram today. We came across the above picture which she captioned “Behind-the-scenes making @DraperJames‘s Spring collection. ???????????????? I’m in love!! Check out the early arrivals in the link! And stay tuned for more. ???????????????????? #DraperJamesHQ #DraperJamesSpring” And all the birds and flowers and bright spring colors reminded us that there are sunnier days ahead.

Seems Reese has become an inspiration to a lot of women. Her lifestyle brand DraperJames is probably more successful than Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop by now. And if it’s not yet it certainly will become so, if for no other reason than that it is not being promoted as a brand for an elite group of super wealthy women, but rather as a brand for every woman. The prices are still a bit steep for some of us; but Reese seems to take a more down-to-earth “I’m just like y’all” approach to her brand promotion while Gwyneth doesn’t bother to try to pretend she can relate to ordinary women. Of course we all know that in reality Reese isn’t really just like us. She’s more like Gwyneth. But as they say, you can catch more flies with honey. So Reese comes at us with all her Sweet home Alabama relatability, making us feel like we too can have colorful, happy, enriched, fashionable lives even if we’re not rich and famous.

Reese does a lot of promoting of her Draper James lifestyle brand on her instagram page. She posts pictures of herself wearing clothes from the line, and of course she always looks great. She’s widely admired for her style. So Draper James always sells out.

Here’s Reese in another outfit from the Draper James Spring 2016 collection.

She always looks so well put together and so happy. Who wouldn’t want her life, or at least be inspired to try to make their own life over so that they can have even just a small degree of what she seems to have?

Of course if you’re not a petite, cute little blonde with a mega successful acting career it might not be so easy to get even that small degree of what Reese Witherspoon appears to have. But that’s one of the keys to Reese’s growing popularity. She somehow makes the ordinary woman feel like a bright and colorful life is possible even if you’re not a cute blonde with successful acting careers. With just a picture, she inspires countless women to try harder to create the best version of themselves and to pursue the best life they can live.

We can’t wait for Spring. Can you?

Hello, I'm Adela Lewis aka singer songwriter Adelamonica. I am the founder, creative director, editor in chief and main writer for avenuesixty.com. First let me say, I myself cringe at some of the things I've written on this blog. It is completely embarrassing to realize how miserably I've been failing to hide the fact that I lack sophistication, and often times lack enlightenment. I wish I had never written half the things I've written on here, but I did write them. To be clear, I am just a regular person who enjoys writing. I refer to myself as "editor in chief" and "creative director" because, owning the blog as I do and being the one who creates and edits the content (except for content submitted by guest contributors), I feel that I have the freedom to do so. But I am not an editor and there is currently no staff that I oversee. Via this blog, I am contributing my personal thoughts and ideas and beliefs to everyday topics of discussion--at times topics on which I am not particularly well informed, but about which I might still have a point of view--much like most other people on the planet . The things I write should be regarded in the light of diary/journal style and essay style writings, reviews and reports exploring the topics I attempt to discuss. Please recognize that I have no academic or other professional qualifications and I do not represent my points of view as carrying any weight or having anything of significant value to contribute to serious discussions held by qualified persons on any topic featured. I apologize in advance for any errors major or minor that I make in my writing (I have made some embarrassing errors), anything I write that can be perceived as an offense or that is otherwise insensitive or needlessly critical and disparaging of any person.
