Happy Saturday May 13th! Hope everyone is well and happy. Hope everyone you love is well and happy. And if you’re not, I wish joy and peace for you. Take a deep breath. Smile. Try to spread good energy around. Your good energy might help lift up someone. And even if you don’t want to spread around good energy for the purpose of helping other people, do it for yourself. Because what you spread around comes back around to you. While you’re shopping and treating yourself to all the wonderful things you deserve today, keep the thought in mind that the happier you are the better for the world. On that note, I am shopping for a red cocktail dress so I can make a video to start promoting my album project. Here are some dresses that I’m looking at as far as styles go. I can’t really afford these, but I do love the styles so if there are any seamstresses out there who feel they can make me something similar, please feel free to contact me to discuss.
Dolce Gabbana runched red cocktail dress
I love this dress. It would be absolutely perfect if it had sleeves that were at least three-quarters length. I prefer sleeves on my dresses and tops. I don’t like to bare my arms. So for me, this Dolce Gabbana runched red cocktail dress would be perfect if it had sleeves. I think three-quarters length would work better than long sleeves.
Oscar de la Renta red tiered silk gown
Not sure if this Oscar de la Renta dress would be classified as a red cocktail dress necessarily. Although, by definition a cocktail dress is a dress you wear to attend a cocktail party or semi-formal occasion, and this would surely be suitable for a cocktail party or semi-formal occasion; but it’s quite long; and it seems like these days cocktail dresses are typically somewhere between midi and mini. In any case I think this dress is gorgeous, but I would have to modify it a bit in order to be able to wear it. Like the Dolce & Gabbana dress, I would prefer this dress to have sleeves; and I would alter it so the neckline isn’t a plunging neckline.
Cushnie et ochs off-the-shoulder red cocktail dress
As long as I could find the right bra, this Cushnie et ochs off the shoulder red cocktail dress is perfect as is. The arms are covered enough, although I prefer coverage to at least below the elbow.
Costarellos Guipure lace tiered ruffle burgundy red cocktail dress
This dress is more burgundy than red, but burgundy is in the red family so it can still qualify as a red cocktail dress. And I can’t complain about the neckline or the sleeve length. Admittedly it’s a little over-the-top with the ornate design, but I still love it.
