Kendall Jenner channels her inner ballerina for Spanish Vogue. She’s on the cover for the October 2016 issue. At last count 1.3 million people liked this picture of her posing with her foot on a piano while she lies back in a chair wearing an oversized sweater over a bodysuit with nothing else other than a pair of leg warmers and ballet slippers. She was shot by photographer Miquel Reveriego.

Kendall actually appears on the cover of several October 2016 Vogue publications. She’s on the cover of Vogue Japan, Vogue Germany and Vogue Australia. Not to mention that she was on the September 2016 cover of the main Vogue magazine.

Looks like she’s still dominating the scene. Let’s face it, Kendall’s social media popularity make her more valuable to advertisers than the more ‘established’ models. If you check the follower count for top models of yesterday and today on Instagram for example, none of them come anywhere close to being competitive with Kendall’s high numbers. As of last check Kendall had the 12th most followed account on Instagram. She’s just behind Nicki Minaj (11), The Rock (10), her sister Kylie (9), Cristiano Ronaldo (8), Justin Bieber (7), her sister Kim Kardashian (6), Ariana Grande (5), Beyonce (4), Taylor Swift (3), Selena Gomez (2) and Instagram itself which holds the number 1 spot. Notice that there are no other models in that list. In fact, the second most popular model on Instagram to date is Cara Delevingne who holds the #30 spot. And Cara is followed by Gigi Hadid who has (or had at the time of this post) the #40 most followed Instagram account. So Kendall is far and away the most popular model on the scene if you use social media metrics to make that determination. She has a far wider reach that every other model out there and so it’s not that surprising that she continues to get all the magazine covers and spreads.

But is she the best model out there? Some people say yes. Other’s say no. We say it doesn’t really matter to advertisers who does the best catwalk or makes the most interesting faces and poses. What matters to them is the ability of the model to influence sales.

Hello, I'm Adela Lewis aka singer songwriter Adelamonica. I am the founder, creative director, editor in chief and main writer for avenuesixty.com. First let me say, I myself cringe at some of the things I've written on this blog. It is completely embarrassing to realize how miserably I've been failing to hide the fact that I lack sophistication, and often times lack enlightenment. I wish I had never written half the things I've written on here, but I did write them. To be clear, I am just a regular person who enjoys writing. I refer to myself as "editor in chief" and "creative director" because, owning the blog as I do and being the one who creates and edits the content (except for content submitted by guest contributors), I feel that I have the freedom to do so. But I am not an editor and there is currently no staff that I oversee. Via this blog, I am contributing my personal thoughts and ideas and beliefs to everyday topics of discussion--at times topics on which I am not particularly well informed, but about which I might still have a point of view--much like most other people on the planet . The things I write should be regarded in the light of diary/journal style and essay style writings, reviews and reports exploring the topics I attempt to discuss. Please recognize that I have no academic or other professional qualifications and I do not represent my points of view as carrying any weight or having anything of significant value to contribute to serious discussions held by qualified persons on any topic featured. I apologize in advance for any errors major or minor that I make in my writing (I have made some embarrassing errors), anything I write that can be perceived as an offense or that is otherwise insensitive or needlessly critical and disparaging of any person.
