How to wear your Erdem Aysha paillette-embellished floral-print silk skirt

Came across this skirt a moment ago and found it interesting. It’s so colorful. The scale-like objects on it are apparently called paillettes.

A paillette according to dictionary.reference.com is “a spangle for ornamenting a costume”. It’s pronounced pahy-yet and it’s basically sequins as you probably can see just from looking at it.

This Erdem Aysha paillette-embellished floral-print silk skirt costs $1 930.

If I had $1,930 to spend on clothes right now I’d probably spread it out and get myself as many things as possible instead of spending it on just one skirt that can’t be worn on any random day for any random purpose.

The skirt

But let’s say I did own an Erdem Aysha paillette-embellished floral-print silk skirt. What would I wear with my Erdem Aysha paillette-embellished floral-print silk skirt?

The net-a-porter stylist suggests you “Ground this colorful piece with a simple chambray top”. Their featured model is wearing hers with a Victoria Beckham sleeveless denim top

I have decided to wear mine with this Saint Laurent white silk Capelet Blouse from Harrods.

The Saint Laurent white silk Capelet Blouse comes with an $1805.39 price tag. It is 100% silk and a bit on the sheer side. Here it is being worn with tight black leather pants.

I was at first going to go with a pair of Black Christian Louboutin Highness Platform pumps” but I decided on these GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI Pink Suede Sandals with Metallic Heel instead.

The shoes come with a $650 price tag. They are described as “open toe” wrapped ankle strap” sandals “with covered buckle metallic silver-toned angular high heel overlasted wafer platform”.

For a bag I figured I’d mix things up a little bit and go for a different color instead of matching the bag color to the shoe color. Green seemed like a good color choice. The skirt has some green in it. So I picked this Paula Cademartori Green Leather Tatiana Shoulder Bag.

The bag comes with a $1,555 price tag. It’s described as a “stud detailed leather shoulder bag”. It has a front flap with magnetic snap closure buckled shoulder strap two internal sections zippered back wall pocket front wall slot pocket and satin lining.

I won’t wear any necklace or bracelet with this outfit. The top doesn’t seem to need accessorizing. The cape detail and the sheerness of it are enough. My only accessories aside from the Paula Cademartori Green Leather Tatiana Shoulder Bag will be a pair of Chanel Vintage Jewerly Gold-Plated Word Drop Earrings and a pair of red gradient Prada Round Baroque Sunglasses.

The earrings come with a $1″ 610 price tag. They are gold-plated metal clip earrings with diamond-shape textural grid posts and lettered Chanel drop. I guess there’s something I don’t know about gold plated jewelry? I used to think if something is gold plated it isn’t real gold; but I guess I must be wrong. I guess they put a layer of real gold over whatever metal the earrings are made out of.

As for the sunglasses they come with a $290.00 price tag.

So what do you think of the outfit? How would you wear your Erdem Aysha paillette-embellished floral-print silk skirt if you owned an Erdem Aysha paillette-embellished floral-print silk skirt?
