This is probably going to be another year that I won’t be able to afford to do any holiday gift shopping. But that doesn’t mean I can’t still have a little fun virtual window shopping for gifts for the people in my life. In my previous post “Shopping for men’s jackets and coats?” I mentioned that my guy wants a leather jacket. I’d love to buy him a leather jacket, even though I personally think he needs something a little more practical and suited to his lifestyle. But the jackets I would like to buy are way too expensive. Even so I have a leather jacket on the list of possibilities for holiday presents. I also have men’s snow boots on the list and have been looking through Nordstrom’s collection of Rain & Snow Boots to find a pair for him.
UGG Australia Worchester Butte Waterproof leather boot
I like these but he probably wouldn’t. Then again you think you know what someone will and will not like and they surprise you. But I have a feeling he wouldn’t love the overlapping fur. He might not mind if there’s fur inside lining the boot, but being able to see it on the outside will probably make these UGG men’s snow boots a no for him.

These might get a better reception than the UGG Australia Worchester Butte Waterproof leather boots; but he might complain about the red shoe laces. Otherwise I think he’d like these well enough not to pout on opening his gift.

I don’t think these would get complaints per se. These are right up his alley. They are listed as hiking boots and so I’m not sure if they’re the same as men’s snow boots; but I figure if the hiking involves trudging through feet of snow in the mountains then they should do just fine on the streets. I guess if he were to have any complaint it would be that it would have been nice if they were black.

Baffin ‘Evolution’ Snow Boot
Based on the description of these I would probably buy these of all the men’s snow boots I checked out. Because of the amount of walking he does he will need boots that do what these Baffin boots say they do. Matter of fact I might put these at the top of the list. This is going to be our third winter out here in the midwest and he’s been having to navigate the snow and sleet and ice in just sneakers. He probably wouldn’t react with enthusiasm to open a box and find snow boots; but if it snows as much this winter as it did last winter I think he’ll come to realize that the snow boots were a better gift than the leather jacket. Now if I was able to get him both the boots and a nice leather jacket, I probably wouldn’t have to ask his help with the dishes at least for one day.
