Friday color inspiration is #OPI St. Mark’s the Spot blue as seen on Kerry Washington.

Kerry (or whoever maintains her social media pages) posted this picture to her Instagram yesterday, captioning it “Here’s a sneak peek of Kerry’s @jimmykimmellive mani. Tonight 1135p. -krew ????????: @opi_products #StMarksTheSpot #kerry4opi“. It inspired us to start a daily color inspiration feature beginning today.

Add some color to your life every day…

You should try to add some color to your life every day even if it’s just in the form of a vibrant shade of nail polish.

For our Friday color inspiration we’re taking a page out of Kerry Washington’s style book.  We’re loving that she chose a vibrant shade of blue to go with her very colorful embroidery print dress (still trying to track down the dress Lucky for us Kerry updated her Instagram with another picture of the dress and the designer details. It’s from Saloni via salonilondon.com – a London based contemporary womenswear brand founded by designer Saloni Lodha in 2011)

As it says in her caption, Kerry’s polish is from OPI. It’s their St. Mark’s the Spot royal blue pearl nail lacquer. Granted Kerry inked a deal with O.P.I last year to act as their creative ambassador, so she does have a vested interest in wearing OPI nail polish, but we won’t let that influence our decision to buy or not to buy the nail polish she’s wearing. Her nails look great. We love the color and we definitely want to try it. Unfortunately we can’t find that shade at Macys right now. But they do have other vibrant and colorful shades that can work just as well for color inspiration. So swing by their website and pick up a few.

Now let’s talk the embroidery detail and bright vibrant colors of Kerry’s dress. We came across at least a few comments from people saying they weren’t feeling the dress; but we are totally loving the color and print and the embroidery work. Wish we could find who made the dress, but so far no luck. If you know please feel free to drop a comment letting us know.

Update on dress: Dress is from Saloni via salonilondon.com. Kerry updated her instagram with another picture of herself on the Jimmy Kimmel set wearing the dress, and she was thoughtful enough to include the info. She wore the dress with Christian Louboutin heels and Anita Ko Jewelry.

BTW does anyone else think as we do that if Kerry Washington started a lifestyle brand like Reese Witherspoon she would have a lot of success with it?

Hello, I'm Adela Lewis aka singer songwriter Adelamonica. I am the founder, creative director, editor in chief and main writer for avenuesixty.com. First let me say, I myself cringe at some of the things I've written on this blog. It is completely embarrassing to realize how miserably I've been failing to hide the fact that I lack sophistication, and often times lack enlightenment. I wish I had never written half the things I've written on here, but I did write them. To be clear, I am just a regular person who enjoys writing. I refer to myself as "editor in chief" and "creative director" because, owning the blog as I do and being the one who creates and edits the content (except for content submitted by guest contributors), I feel that I have the freedom to do so. But I am not an editor and there is currently no staff that I oversee. Via this blog, I am contributing my personal thoughts and ideas and beliefs to everyday topics of discussion--at times topics on which I am not particularly well informed, but about which I might still have a point of view--much like most other people on the planet . The things I write should be regarded in the light of diary/journal style and essay style writings, reviews and reports exploring the topics I attempt to discuss. Please recognize that I have no academic or other professional qualifications and I do not represent my points of view as carrying any weight or having anything of significant value to contribute to serious discussions held by qualified persons on any topic featured. I apologize in advance for any errors major or minor that I make in my writing (I have made some embarrassing errors), anything I write that can be perceived as an offense or that is otherwise insensitive or needlessly critical and disparaging of any person.
