I’m a reversible tank top. A two-tone stone reversible tank top. You can buy me at “Mango.com“. I have a wide scoop neck both in the back and the front. I also come in marron which is a kind of chestnut color. In fact last I checked only the marron version of me was available. All the stone were sold out but you know how it is they could get more stone so if you particularly like the stone version of me you can still check to see if it’s back in stock. You could be in luck.

I like me better than I like the marron but I’m supposed to like me better than I like something else. The marron will like itself better than it likes me. That’s how it’s supposed to work. You’re not supposed to want to be someone else. You’re supposed to love yourself and think the most and the best of yourself and be glad you’re you while not thinking you’re better than something different. You’re just different and you love what makes you different and the different stuff love what makes them different and everybody’s happy and nobody is jealous of anybody and the world is a happy place with happy people who love themselves and respect everybody else.

I kind of think though that the marron should have been called chestnut or better yet brown but I know how it is with these designers that name us. They like to try to come up with more interesting names but I think the people that buy us and wear us prefer not to be confused. Like me I’m beige or maybe cream but they called me stone.

FYI a marron is a type of freshwater crayfish from Western Australia. Have you ever seen crayfish? Check this out (crayfish photo),. Gross right?

A little story about MANGO Toilet Bag Quilted vanity bag

There are lots of toilet bags in the world. We come in all different colors and shapes and although we’re all mostly pretty small and compact we also come in different sizes. We all serve the same general purpose. Some people call us “body hygiene kits”. Some others define us as being waterproof bags that hold bathrooms items such as soap and toothpaste. We’re generally used for traveling. I don’t mean people travel inside us. Okay okay so that was lame. I’m sure you know what I mean when I say that we’re generally used for traveling. People who are traveling pack their toiletries inside us and then put us in their carry on luggage.

As toilet bags go I think I’m one of the prettier bags you’re going to find. I’m not trying to toot my own horn here. I’m just stating the facts as they are. Okay so maybe it’s really an opinion and not a general fact but I do think I am the Angelina Jolie of toilet bags. Should I be comparing myself to someone else maybe? Hmm. Angelina Jolie is kind of washed up now isn’t she? She’s probably no longer the quintessential beauty. I mean she’s what 37? But I’m a little bit out of touch with the who’s who of beautiful women in the world today. I know PEOPLE magazine picked Beyonce for their most beautiful woman in the world for 2012 but I don’t really see it no offense to Beyonce. She’s pretty as hell but the most beautiful woman in the world? Not convinced.

Me? I’m a quilted toilet bag although I’m also referred to as a vanity bag which I kind of prefer. Vanity bag has a much nicer ring to it. Toilet bag conjures up images of well toilets. I have a zip through closure and a decorative tassel. I also have a “Touch” logo tab. My shell is 100% polyurethane and my lining 100% polyester.

Like I said I’m cute. Actually forget cute I’m gorgeous. My color is coral. I’m bright and colorful and stylish enough that ladies can put their make-up stuff inside me and carry me to parties and stuff. I don’t have to only serve as a toilet bag. Not that there’s anything wrong with being just a toilet bag. We’re all equally important and valuable.

A Red and white striped tank top Tale

Alice wore me with her blue jeans on a trip to the grocery store to pick up some fruits and veggies. I almost got passed over for her two-tone reversible tank top but then while she was standing looking at herself in the mirror I heard her think to herself “maybe my red and white striped tank top would work better.”

She walked into the closet and took me down off the hanger. It felt great to get taken down off the hanger. I hadn’t been taken down off the hanger for a while. In fact” Alice had only worn me three times since she received me from Mango.com where she had purchased me for eleven dollars and ninety-nine cents.

It wasn’t that Alice didn’t love me. She did love me. I was her favorite red and white striped tank top. Okay I was her only red and white striped tank top; but even if I wasn’t her only red and white striped tank top it wouldn’t have been because she didn’t love me that she’d only worn me three times. She had so many other tops to choose from she could wear a different top every day for a year before she needed to recycle.

When she put me on and went to look at herself in the mirror I held my breath because I knew she could change her mind about wearing me. I tried did my best to fit myself on her body perfectly so nothing would be out of place and she’d love the way I looked on her and take me along on her outing.

I knew if I didn’t make her look good she would probably change out of me and into something else so I made sure I wasn’t too tight or too loose and that I looked good in the back and the front.

Alice was happy with the way she looked in me and the how nice I looked with her blue jeans. She wore me to the store. I was totally elated.

On top of that she was a black belt in karate so she had nothing to fear of any thug females who might want to attack her just because they were jealous that she was pretty and had money to afford Louis Vuitton and Sergio Rossi. Besides criminals didn’t usually attack in broad daylight anyhow. So she wasn’t the least concerned with her safety.

So here it is another Sunday in my life. I am not feeling all that great this morning. Stressed about money as usual.

“You Can Be Happy No Matter What…” is on my desk again. I had put it away but here it is back on my desk as if it’s trying to implore me to open it and actually read it.

I’m not sure though that I think you can be happy no matter what. I have had it with being poor but inside this place in my head and inside this place in my chest I feel like there’s no hope to change my circumstances. I feel kind of doomed to be doing this for the rest of my life trying to earn a living from one virtual source or another but walking away with pennies at the end of the day.

Would be great to have it to wear right now as I prepare to pause work to go out for a stroll.

I was just reading from the book “You can Be Happy No Matter What – Five Principles Your Therapist Never Told You.” I was reading the passages under “It is futile to try to change others”. This is without question true” but it is also impossible I find to live with someone whose lifestyle does not mesh with yours and who is fundamentally different from you. So what do you do in a situation like that where you will never change who a person is but you simply cannot respect who they are or live with them. You leave the relationship right?

It hardly feels like today is Sunday. Last Sunday at this hour I was in a Sleep Inn hotel in Kentucky. Hardly seems like a whole entire week has passed since.

I haven’t set up house in the new place quite yet. Still have lots of boxes in the living room and have no idea how I’m going to get them unpacked.
