Summer officially starts in 32 days

If you live where we do, you probably couldn’t tell by today’s weather that summer is only 32 days from officially starting. It was so cold earlier this morning we could have worn winter gloves and gotten away with it. Although it’s sunny and bright enough for a beach trip it certainly isn’t warm enough today. But even though the weather is still having trouble figuring out what temperature it’s supposed to be on May 20th, summer is still just around the corner. So you know what time it is…

Time to get your beach on

We grew up on a tropical island with hundreds of beaches. So going to the beach was always about fun for us. We never cared about how we looked. Only about being at the beach, smelling the ocean, frolicking in the water.

Then we grew up and moved to a place where beach culture is about what bathing suit you’re wearing and how your body looks in it.

The only not so fun part of planning a beach trip nowadays is the concern about wearing a bathing suit. Not everyone is comfortable wearing a bathing suit in public, whether it’s a one-piece or a two piece.

If you tend to avoid the beach because you don’t want to wear a bathing suit, we can attest to the fact that you can wear just about anything you darned-well please. We’ve worn shorts and a t-shirt. We’ve even worn a maxi skirt. And we went into the water and let our inner kid out with our maxi skirt on. So don’t deprive yourself of the glorious ocean because you feel like you have to wear a bathing suit. You can break the beachwear rules and wear what you’re comfortable wearing.

For ladies who have no such hangups about wearing a bathing suit in public, here are some swimwear picks for you to consider buying for your 2015 beach outings.
