Add some yellow to your wardrobe for Spring and Summer 2014

Aside from a pastel yellow short-sleeved shirt that I bought a couple years ago I can’t think of anything yellow that I have in my wardrobe. I decided to change that today last week. I just bought a yellow scarf, a yellow sunhat and a pair of sunglasses. Just some cheap stuff I picked up for a total of $25. I’m still not in any position to buy expensive designer stuff; but I’ll tell you, the more I look around for stuff that looks like it’s worth buying the more open I find myself becoming to the idea of spending hundreds of dollars for designer goods. Why do they have to compromise on quality and selection when making “affordable” apparel?

Just Purchased

I don’t actually have the above items in my possession yet. They should arrive tomorrow or Wednesday. The picture is just photo-shopped together. When they come I’ll put them on and take a picture and if the picture comes out halfway decent I’ll post it. I guess I should be embarrassed to announce that I’ve just purchased a pair of cheap plastic sunglasses for 8 bucks and a sun hat made of recycled paper for ten bucks and a cheap scarf for seven bucks?

(Update: May 19th 2014 – I received the items last week. I’ve just updated this post today with a picture of myself wearing the sunhat.

Well, I don’t know what happened but half of this post got lost so I am having to update it today (May 19th 2014) with new thoughts and new stuff. Can’t begin to guess what happened and where half of my original post went but (sigh…) Anyway, I received my hat and scarf and sunglasses last week and I took some pictures. Update August 1 2014: I have taken some new pictures to replace the ones that were here previously.

Yellow sunhat and yellow scarf

The hat is decent enough looking. It does feel as if it can easily fall apart if you don’t handle it with great care; but I think if you’re not tossing it about and leaving it where obstinate toddlers can get their hands on it you should be able to keep it in tact for long enough to get your money’s worth. Luckily I don’t have any toddlers around; but I do have a bad habit of just tossing my stuff all over the place and not taking care of them.

Maybe one of these days I will be able to afford designer scarves, sunglasses and hats. For now these will have to do. As for the designer stuff, here are some yellow things on my wish list.
