It is Sunday afternoon. I am waiting for the Serena Williams/Victoria Azarenka US Open finals match to start at 3:30PM. It is currently 3:10PM. 20 minutes to go. I won’t say who I’m rooting for. I like both ladies. I hope it will be a good match.
Here are 5 tops in my designer tops wish-list:
I will start with this Victoria Beckham denim shirt.
I have to admit I would be willing to spend money on Victoria Beckham stuff if I had the money to spend. Somehow she makes her stuff look worth every dollar.
This denim shirt has a richly tailored look to it. It just looks like a quality denim shirt. Of course I’m just looking at a picture of the shirt. There’s no telling what the quality is really like in reality but I suspect Victoria Beckham cares a great deal about the quality of the stuff she puts her name to.
This shirt would have great to have over the summer to wear with my cut-off denim shorts. I guess you have to consider $325 a reasonable price when you’re talking about high end designer brands. Unfortunately that’s still out of my price range.
I don’t so much care for the message printed on this t-shirt. I just like the look of the t-shirt. Personally I don’t think it matters too much how you exit life any more than how you enter; although I get that we live on in the memories of people after we are gone so for their sake I guess it would be a good thing for us to leave them with memories of us that make them smile when they remember us instead of leaving them with memories that only cause them greater pain. In that case what matters is how you live life.

A bold graphic print lends an artful look to this jersey tee from Mary Katrantzou
Navy with red/blue-multi graphic print dropped shoulders round neckline short sleeves
Loose fit
Team with a printed pencil skirt and ankle boots
I probably wouldn’t wear this with a printed pencil skirt. More likely I’d wear it with jeans.
Pardon the Interruption
The US Open final between Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka has started so I am dividing my attention between watching the match and finishing this post.
I have to say I would love to see Victoria Azarenka wear more flattering tennis outfits; but I’m glad she’s all about her tennis and not all about how she looks out on the court playing tennis.
Would love to have this shirt for the fall to wear with jeans and ankle boots.
Match Update
Azarenka looks to me to have the edge over Williams mentally. Williams is already falling apart and it’s only the 4th game of the first set. Azarenka has a 2 games to 1 lead with Williams serving. I think it looks more favorable for Azarenka to win her 3rd grand slam today than for Williams to win her 17th.
This Etro silk printed shirt is totally gorgeous. I have no idea where I would wear it or with what I would wear it but I wouldn’t mind having the option to wear it. I like the outfit on the model below.
Meanwhile at the US Open
The ladies are on serve but Victoria is technically beating Serena. She has the fight and is clearly out there intending to win. Serena is out there “hoping” to win.
6:01PM
I stepped away for a while to watch some of the tennis on the television. It looked like Serena was going to win it for a minute there. She was up 4 games to 1 in the second set; but she totally choked and the match is now in a third set. I still think Azarenka will be walking away with this one. Serena was a mental wreck from the start and she’ll surely continue to melt down through the third set.
Meanwhile both of these ladies have millions of dollars and can afford to buy all these tops and then some while I can only dream. So whoever wins and whoever loses I can’t afford to feel too disappointed for them. They will go home to a nice big house and closets filled with designer stuff; and they both walk away from today’s match with big fat checks.
